Back in November, just days after the Jerry Sandusky story broke, Mark Madden, a sometimes blowhard radio host and columnist from Pittsburgh, was telling anyone who would listen about an alleged investigation that focused on a child porn ring in which young boys were pimped out to Second Mile donors.

At the time, that tale seemed a bit far-fetched, but it made its rounds in the media and on this site. The story quickly went away, though, and there were no more (legitimate) mentions of it. Until last Friday. That’s when CBS and Radar Online released similar but separate reports that said Sandusky was being investigated for his part in a child porn ring that sent letters to and illegal photos of children across state lines and, maybe, shared rape victims.
Doesn't seem to reflect on Penn State directly, more on Second Mile-- proving a connection may be difficult, given what the accuser's saying about JoPa. The possibility that this is a false memory will be viciously exploited by unscrupulous attorneys. The accuser's gonna go through hell.

It doesn't reflect on PSU but if a booster is involved it will be.

Second Mile are probably on the phone with the Vatican's lawyers as we speak.

and brings us back to why PSU didn't use the info to oust Paterno like they wanted to. Sure, he threatened to cost them a bit of cash in terms of fundraising but was so concerned with his "legacy" that going away and ousting Sandusky would have been an easy sell. I wonder if it were more than "boosters".

It seems to me that someone should investigate whether Penn State had an LGBT curriculum.

I don't think that all of the reviewers have even read the book.

See, where would we be without you, Terry?! I thought, for sure, those were all well thought out reviews.

Real change is coming.

"Sweet Caroline" will no longer be played at Penn State football games.
Hands
Touching hands
Reaching out
Touching me
Touching you

And when I hurt
Hurting runs off my shoulders
How can I hurt when holding you?

One
Touching one
Reaching out
Touching me
Touching you
Nothing to do with lyrics though.

Thinking that opponents could have a lot of good times developing a decent playlist for when PSU visits.

A former Penn State graduate assistant who complained he saw former assistant football coach Jerry Sandusky showering with a young boy on campus in 2001 and testified at his sex abuse trial this summer sued the university on Tuesday for what he says is defamation and misrepresentation.

Mike McQueary’s whistle-blower lawsuit claims his treatment by the university since Sandusky was arrested on child molestation charges in November has caused him distress, anxiety, humiliation and embarrassment. It seeks millions of dollars in damages.

Came here to post the same thing.

I imagine that he had no way of knowing when he left a child alone to be raped by a monster who was his colleague that things would work out so well and he would seriously be able to cash in on the event.

We're in the "virtue among whores" territory on this one (or rank among Ensigns) but I kind of see his point.

Schultz and Curley are charged with perjury for lying about what McQuery told them. The University President, Spanier, comes out and makes a public defense of Schultz and Curley and saying they have his fullest support, which means he thinks McQuery lied about what he told them instead of his administrative buddy-buds lying about what they heard.

This counter "Oh yea...$%$# you" was inevitable.

Of course, the guy who said this, Spanier, has been shit-canned so that kind of blunts the argument. But hey, those tuition dollars got to be spent somewhere.

Graham Spanier, the former Penn State University president who stepped down in the wake of the Jerry Sandusky sex abuse scandal, told ABC News today that he was a victim of child abuse so severe that he required several surgeries to correct the damage.

His history as a victim, he said, was a deeply personal rejoinder to those critics who accuse him of trying to cover up Sandusky's crimes and not caring about the children.

"I've never met anyone who has had a higher level of awareness [about child abuse,]" Spanier said in an exclusive interview with ABC News' Josh Elliott.

Spanier, 64, is on a campaign to resurrect his once pristine reputation. Though not charged with a crime, the findings of an independent investigation accuse him of failing to prevent a "child sexual predator harming children for over a decade."

The abuse he sustained at the hands of his father, a working class immigrant, began when he was a child and continued through his adolescence. Spanier said he has had four surgeries in his adulthood to correct problems with his breathing, face and head as a result of the injuries.

"It resulted in, of course, some emotional scarring, but also some substantial physical damage," he said of the abuse.

Before his tenure as a university administrator, Spanier was a professor specializing in the study of dysfunctional families and child abuse, an interest he said resulted directly from his childhood.

By shit-canned do you mean 'reduced to tenured professor'?

And probably at a higher salary than other tenured professors in his department.

Asst coach mcquery was getting $140k per year plus bonuses for bowl games and use of a car, which its not bad pay at a university for someone with just a BS degree.

At least it won't affect his ability to gain emeritus status. That would be a real shame.

I hope that he gets eight figures though the judge stipulates that it needs to be donated to charity for abused children.

How much do you think he'd deserve if he hadn't turned away and let Sandusky finish?
