Huaraches

Post by baffled »

Who wears these? What brand? Do you feel less ghey than in vibrams?

They're cheaper, that's for sure.

I have been intending to order a pair from Ted though haven't gotten around to finding out what size I would wear. They probably would be good for a lot of things - I would wear them casually, for sure, though I am generally fairly manly regardless what I wear. I have a similar kind of sandal that I wear though don't like for running in - obviously, the huaraches would likely be better for this. Likely, I will order a pair in the next several weeks and report back - pictures for a small, cash donation to my regular cam site.

I'm not donating to any cam sites ever again. Nobody's going to college off that cash.

I've been looking at the Brancas, Lunas from Barefoot Ted, and the Invisible Shoe.

Invisible Shoes are the cheapest I think, but I get a bad feeling about them. I'm not sure what the reason is, but I feel like those laces will fuck my foot up. No basis in fact or any reviews I've read whatsoever.

I hadn't heard of Brancas. I don't think that I would wear them, even with my sexy tights and my pretty feet.

I have no idea what process that I used but have come to the conclusion that Lunas are the best option - probably because I have seen reports of people doing ultras and the like in them. The new lacing system looks like a decent idea - I like that they have been improving them on a regular basis.

They're ~2mm thicker than the Invisible Shoes and I think about the same compared to the Brancas.

I think I remember seeing Bux mention he's run in these ghey little Roman-like sandals. Hopefully he'll chime in.

I am coming to the realization that the extra coin for the Lunas is probably worth it unless someone tells me otherwise.

I sent the Luna company a note inquiring about when a model that I liked that was out of stock. They traded a few emails with me about what I wanted to use them for and what terrain - sort of like good customer service.

Did they give a method to measure how big of a faggot you are so they can properly size you?

I got my weird foot fetish out of the way when I finally gave up my Vibrams. I'm going to get a pair of barefoot shoes that look like real shoes.

I've had the same invisible shoes for a couple years. Very durable.

Comfort is completely up to how you lace them, but once you get it right, you never have to change it (slip on/off)

Highly recommended

Where's GDG when we (don't really) need him? He could tell you how to make your own funny sandals using an old tire, some string and a flint knife you made yourself.

how do these keep from getting stones, sand and detritus lodged between your foot and the sandal bed? is it something you need to be cognizant of the whole time?

A comfortable fit allows, when the foot is off the ground, a little space between the sole and your foot. Since the sole is quite slick and hydrophobic, nothing really stays on there.

I could count on one hand the number of times I've had to interrupt a run and finger some pebble out.
