To be honest, I'm curious to see how it'll work, but I wouldn't want to do the trial. I think that google is trying to be so many things that eventually one of their gimmicks is going to result in a colossal fuck up.

Actually, Google has fucked up quite regularly, at least in terms of having products be successfully received by people. I thought in the past year they were doing a good job of going back to search and simply kicking ass in that area - wallet seems like nothing more than a veiled attempt to gather even more information about people.baffled wrote:To be honest, I'm curious to see how it'll work, but I wouldn't want to do the trial. Agreed, but I was thinking more along the lines of privacy/security.Terry B. wrote:Actually, Google has fucked up quite regularly, at least in terms of having products be successfully received by people. The concern among a lot of people in my line of work is that Google is so concerned being Google+, Google Wallet, Google Driverless Car etc, that their search will take a shit.
I kind of like what they've done in search, even though it's made my job substantially harder.
The real key story to watch is Google+. All roads lead to Google+, and I think that company lives or dies with it.

Mobile payment products are the newest thing with regards to financial technology. Some think the systems, which use smartphones to make payments ordinarily done with a card, will replace cash and plastic totally. One step is already used, as Google Wallet, Google's mobile payment system, is now working with all credit and debit cards, where it formerly worked only with MasterCard.
