Re: Last ride: Champion v. Champion
http://www.lasvegasweekly.com/news/2012 ... ractors-p/Even the many, many others sent sprawling to the dirt by Chicken will be sad to see the giant go, but no one will take it harder than Jeff Robinson. When the North Carolina contractor introduced the bull to the PBR in 2006, both were pretty under the radar. The very next year Chicken was up for the PBR’s highest honor—World Champion Bull.
Justin McBride, the top-qualifier for the 2007 World Finals, took on Chicken in the last round. No one had ridden him for 8 seconds that year. As fellow rider Ben Jones recalled in a recent tribute on pbr.com: “In my eyes it was the greatest bucking bull and the greatest bull rider that’s ever been, and it was a clash of the titans.” McBride came away with an astronomical 93 points and the championship. Chicken became World Champion Bull. No doubt he was treated to some premium alfalfa, and Robinson has since built an empire on his back.

http://www.lasvegassun.com/news/2012/oc ... again-pre/Looking ahead to tonight, all eyes will be on that first-ever ride for Chris on Chicken on a Chain described as the matchup of the year. It’s the ultimate challenge for the cowboy about to start his retirement after 16 years of competition, but what a way to retire if he conquers this baddest of brutal beasts.

Re: Last ride: Champion v. Champion
http://www.examiner.com/article/shivers ... rld-finals"I've spent a lot of time this last week thinking about what I really want to do," Shivers said after the round, "and that's to win the World Finals." Incredibly, it is the only title that Shivers has never claimed. "That's what I came to do."
When asked if he might reconsider retiring, Shivers declined. "I know what I want to do and that's to spend time with my family."
Shivers relied upon his family for his pick for Round 4. He told the crowd on Friday night that his son wanted him to pick Chicken on a Chain. The two former World Champs have never met and Round 4 will be Chicken's last out before he retires as well.

Rodeo Clowns-- baddest support staff in all of sports.
The fact that they get recognized for this is proof of the superiority of bull riding culture.
