I remember being in Tokyo with the Ride snowboard team right after that and making Save Gator T shirts.

I remember his SK8 TV interview on Nickelodeon where he said his favorite band was The Stranglers. That was after the murder, before his arrest. Creepy.

Mark Rogowski from Esco. When I got to California he was big in the local pool scene. Valley Center bowl, 9th street and the Mercedes black bottom one in Escondido, Micks ramp and the mini in the San Marcos business park were common places to see him. Seemed really nice to everyone and willing to do all kinds of community support stuff for free. Introduced me to Mark Gonzales and Natas too.Remember Gator? Love this thread. When I was a kid growing up, there were no such thing as skateboards. Presently, I can't even stand up on one for over 3 seconds. Guess I should take lessons and become a world champion in that sport too.

Actually its one I had in CA that I built in the neighbors yard. I built one a few years ago for the nephews in their barn/garage that has a spine and a left hip. 4'6" high with 8' transitions and 2" steel coping. If the kids want to skate I would build them one anytime. I have a park 2 miles away but never get there. I love minis tho and I ride a Grosso with Indys.

BMX and MTB are the shit. My five year old raced his Huffy in a BMX race this year and was SUPER pumped. I got him a micro mini for X Mas. It's killing me waiting to give it to him.
I'm torn on my kid skating. I loved it and was a full on skate rat for about 15 years. Most guys who actually skate are good dudes but there is a druggie dipshit segment of the population Id rather not have my kids around. It's a hard sport to keep a watchful eye on your kids.
