Hand pumps for gas stations.
If electricity goes down, use a hand/human powered pump, you stupid motherfuckers.
Every body could just keep truckin' without long gas lines. Get it??? Duh!!!

You'd have to pay in cash. And since cash gives you uneven volume amounts, you'd have a hard time measuring it quickly and accurately.Andy79 wrote:If electricity goes down, use a hand/human powered pump, you stupid motherfuckers.

Oh well then just forget that stupid idea. Wait for the government to bring generators. But not until somebody gets killed.kreator wrote:You'd have to pay in cash. If people can't plan ahead enough to fill their tanks, what makes you think they can plan ahead far enough to visit an ATM?

Emergency vehicles and the buses have been running all week, and carpooling requirements were put in a place for a few days. Now the subways have begun running from Brooklyn to manhattan, and gas is becoming available.

Re: Hand pumps for gas stations.
How long does a tank of gas last, you fucking idiots? Gas pumps wont work without electric power, and to switch over to "hand pumps" is a ridiculous proposal, worthy of only senescent idiots. I waited for 4 hours to get my fucking car filled yesterday.
I remember when Katrina happened, and everyone in the Northeast either donated money or actually went down in caravans to the affected areas to help out. No one was really all that concerned that folks may or may not have observed the government warnings. We were just worried about people suffering and how they could be helped. I personally donated more than most of you probably pay in taxes, you redneck bags of shit.

Voila! The lesson is the same as Katrina: If you sit still and ride out a storm and wait for the gubmint to rescue you, you will be disappointed.
No gubmint can respond to a storm fast enough to make everybody happy.
Best to all of you sitting in standing water that you knew was coming.

Your continued masquerade as a Christian is still as entertaining as ever. Keep up the good work, you rugged individualist.

Sitting and waiting out a storm is a self fullfilling prophecy, pagan or christian, and it has little to do with either.
You have my sympathy, but i practice what i preach, gtf out ahead of time.

Hope you don't lose your job, Cleaner. Just keep pluggin' away to keep all the Obama free stuff coming my way. And my SS check, of course.cleaner464 wrote:How long does a tank of gas last, you fucking idiots? PS. So happy that you waited in line 4 hours for gas. The line that wouldn't have been there if other stations shut down because of no electricity had had a standby hand pump to keep the gas going to dumbasses like yourself.

Re: Hand pumps for gas stations.
Well I don't know anyone who is still in standing water. I got through the storm without any problems, and had a full tank of gas. Mass transit was down for a few days, and that made driving necessary. The system is almost completely up and running at this point and I have no need to drive.powerlifter54 wrote:Voila! I'm a believer in small government, but the city and state of New York have done an outstanding job of getting things together.
In Nassua and Suffolk counties, most people need to drive, and gas is more of a problem for them. A friend who lives in Nassua took his bike to the north shore and described as "William Gibson dystopian", saying there was no gas, not much light and and signs everywhere warning that looters would be shot.
Long Island relies on a much smaller but very highly paid (#s 1&2 in the US) police depts and they are stretched thin. LIRR is up but that is really not useful for moving around the island, very good for getting in and out of the city.

Re: Hand pumps for gas stations.
Now push Bloomberg and Cuomo to mandate that every gas station in NYS be equipped with a generator. Problems solved if electricity fails or any reason to run the pumps and lights. Use your imagination and compare the cost to how they're doing it now.
Obama's narcissism and arrogance is only superseded by his naivete and stupidity.

If only they had some gasoline-powered generators.cleaner464 wrote:How long does a tank of gas last, you fucking idiots? Gas pumps wont work without electric power...
Glad you weren't wiped out (really, I've got a bunch of friends who have been camping out in their homes in NJ), and that you have competent local authorities to run the immediate and longer-term recovery.
Just be glad Ray Nagin and Kathleen Blanco aren't in charge.

In NJ, they attempted to mandate the presence of generators in gas stations years ago. The owners screamed bloody murder; therefore no emergency power at the pumps during this crisis.
I guess the "gubmint" was right. Wait, that's impossible!

I agree. Christie, Cuomo and Obama have handled this really well. Kudos to all three.nafod wrote: Just be glad Ray Nagin and Kathleen Blanco aren't in charge.
I'm real glad that "Brownie" wasn't handling it for FEMA this time.

Absolute bullshit Jack. I have yet to read even one of your posts that have ever eked out even an ounce of the milk of human kindness. I will never judge that the less fortunate nor the less intelligent "deserve" what they get. You are welcome to do so, but libertarianism, and objtecivism are so at odds with Christianity that you should know better.powerlifter54 wrote:Sitting and waiting out a storm is a self fullfilling prophecy, pagan or christian, and it has little to do with either.
You have my sympathy, but i practice what i preach, gtf out ahead of time.
Has your dogmatic acceptance of the currently popular militaristic and laissez faire mindset corrupted your understanding of very basic Christian teachings? Have you ever given much thought as to why you find Blake's poetry to be so incomprehensible?

i think it's awesome that it's the climate change deniers that are calling the poor gal stupid for not taking the dire weather predictions seriously enough. ya gotta love it.

Re: Hand pumps for gas stations.
Cleaner, what exactly do you think libertarianism entails?
Feel free to mix in a serious answer with your normal 6th grade level failing attempt at whit.
Regardless, the people that didn't evacuate made a bad decision that they are living with now. I kind of get it.
Out here in earthquake country, people should know to, at the minimum, keep enough water on hand for several days. Hardly anyone does.

Libertarianism is not objectivism. But would love to hear a quick bit of reasoning why libertarianism is at odds with Christianity.cleaner464 wrote:You are welcome to do so, but libertarianism, and objtecivism are so at odds with Christianity that you should know better.
