Anybody playing COD Black Ops II?
I realize that IGx is a foundation of intellectual discussion and playing video games is beneath the typical highbrow persuits of most members, however I am a big fan of the COD franchise and this shit is like crack directly injected into my brain. I was up till 3:30 playing that shit online last night. I'm a fuckin' major, recongize motherbitches!!!!

Didn't work for shit on my PS3 Tuesday or Wednesday. What I could play seemed like the most cartoony COD yet - tiny maps, very run and gun based.
I picked up Battlefield 3 and that shit is like crack. I don't want to pretend it's more realistic, but there's just a bit more strategy in movement and cover that's nice.

Doesn't this same thing happen to you every November...stop buying them!!!Shapecharge wrote:I realize that IGx is a foundation of intellectual discussion and playing video games is beneath the typical highbrow persuits of most members, however I am a big fan of the COD franchise and this shit is like crack directly injected into my brain. I may go pick up a copy in order to have something to cure my newly rekindled Skyrim addiction.
I got the first Black Ops and thought it was great. Got Modern Warfare 3 last year, and it was cool too.
Problem with me is that I am the WORST COD player on the planet. I swear to fucking god, you can put me in a room with 10 hydrocephallic niggers and a couple of people on respirators, and I am happy as FUCK if I get north of 5 kills.
Everyone should share gamer ID's so we can play each other and talk shit (unless you're a PS3 fayg...Xbox baby!!!).

Re: Anybody playing COD Black Ops II?
Milosevic your assessment is almost word-for-word what I told someone yesterday. I perfer the style of play from the other publisher and I played the shit out of that one. I bought the Black Ops II on Wednesday at lunch then after work when home to play it. Monday I played the outgoing version and there were about 260,000 people playing online (XBox). Wednesday when I got home I fired up the old one just to see how many people were still playing it...about 65,000. Put in the new Black Ops II and there were nearly 700,000. Crazy. I've got a copy of Battlefield...I need to try it out.
Kaz...I know brother. My wife got up at 1:00 to get a drink and gave me this look and I told her to quit mean-mugging me or I'd bust her ass. When she got up at 3:00 and asked me what the fuck was wrong with me I said okay...but I still had to get in a couple of more games. One recommendation I can give you on gameplay is this: resist the urge to run, particularly if you don't know where you're going. Don't be a slave to the radar but if you see some red dots indicating badguy positions then methodically move towards it...sorta work an area...look for those avenues of approach and lay in wait. I'm fond of using a machinegun. Plenty of ammo. I'm Shapecharge on there too.
Baff, give it a try. What's the online play like?

There's a new Angry Birds out too.
Re: Anybody playing COD Black Ops II?
Haven't gotten a chance to check out the online play of MOH because... I'm retarded.
I hear it's pretty good though.
I'll have to check out COD in the next week, get online, and then we can have an IGx cool guy hangout playing, um, video games.
Who's watching Homeland tonight?

Free hookers and blow couldn't keep me from Homeland tonight.

Does it ever feel like the last episode was forever ago, instead of just a week?Shapecharge wrote:Free hookers and blow couldn't keep me from Homeland tonight.

Homeland? Isn't that that Jew propaganda disguised as a fictional TV show?

I just wish Shape would get his hands out of his pants he's so excitable over such stuff. Vinnie said he's nervous.

Isn't the show an American adaptation of an Israeli tv series? Mind = Blown for Kraj if true.
Crusty I can't help it...Homeland plus the new COD game is almost complete sensory overload.

Good game so far. Digging the "pick 10" deal on multiplayer.

Dunn, what's this pick 10 shit? I'm on the XBox though.
Re: Anybody playing COD Black Ops II?
You can have 10 modifiers to each custom class. Basically means you can customize the shit outta each class without making you too powerful.Shapecharge wrote:Dunn, what's this pick 10 shit? I'm on the XBox though.
The one I'm digging right now has an SMG as a primary w/ QuickDraw and laser sight for firing from the hip and a semiautomatic light weight sniper rifle as my secondary weapon. Plug and play your lethal and tactical accessories and various perks to suit your gaming style. Pretty sweet without overpowering you or your opponents.

Re: Anybody playing COD Black Ops II?
Okay, same same on the XBox. One of the perks is called Primary Gunfighter (I think) that will allow for a third accessory on you main weapon. I'm fond of that so I gave up my 2nd weapon for that perk. So I've been using a machine gun with the quick draw, dual band scope and FMJ.Dunn wrote:You can have 10 modifiers to each custom class. I dunno man. That sounds like a nice set up. What machine gun are you using light or sub? The LMGs are too slow to reload for my taste. The smgs are fun and fast as hell. Also, for closer stuff the standard "specialist" set up is great for just running around wreaking havoc, especially in Nuketown map.

Re: Anybody playing COD Black Ops II?
So my 8 year old is jonesing for COD Black Ops 2. I heard it was way rated M in the beginning. I am pretty sure I am not getting it for him or is it a bunch of media hand wringing about violence?

Well, if you want your kid de-sensitized to death and gun violence...
The mutiplayer is not so graphic as far as blood and brain splatter, but you're still running around shooting people so there's that. The campaign modes in the last two COD games had some pretty grisly stuff.

Re: Anybody playing COD Black Ops II?
Now that it's running properly on the PS3, I'm enjoying it.
I was always a pretty shitty player (even K/D ratio once I level up to the goodies), so the run and gun style favors me.
The Pick 10 is frustrating, but good. I've wound up ditching grenades in a lot of setups - they're nice for clearing a room but extra attachments and perks are working better.
Favorite hobby is shooting down care packages with the second launcher - that always gets the kiddies howling.
Running best with a SMG, EOTech, Lightweight/Hardline (can't remember other perks) and using the low-rung kill streaks with hardline.

Wow. I can't comprehend that. There's only 168 hours in a week. I know some nerds will platoon play one box.
