The "why you're an idiot" question? I had assumed you were still a psychology professional. If you were a professional, there should be some part of your life that isn't infected with shtick and irony. So as a professional, you should avoid sentences that address mental illness with "In my professional opinion,...shtick and irony.
I could comment that you're an idiot for spending a dozen-some years in college to get a psychology degree, and then to abandon the profession because you suddenly learned that the mental health system is ineffective. But I commend you for leaving the profession. You are not well suited for the mental healing arts.

Friend of mine is a lawyer. He was a public defender for a few years after he got out of law school. One of his first cases was a 20-something who killed his mother with an axe. Guy couldn't have been more guilty, so my friend was sitting across from him in the jail interview room and asking a few questions. Maybe see if there was any remorse there.
