Has any media figure noticed that the complexities of large capacity magazines stymied both the CO theater shooter and the OR mall shooter?

And to all the "sportsmen" who throw military-style gun owners under the Gun Control Bus:
IF an assault rifle ban passes & is effective*, what happens to sportmans' rights when the next whack job brings a duffel bag of pump shotguns to his mass shooting, and sets a new US record?
(God forbid this happens.)
Things can be made worse by pushing nuts to use more devastating "sports" ammunition, instead of the relatively underpowered .223.

*It won't be effective; it was tried in the '90's, and failed.

They should also think about how many semi-automatic rifles and shotguns are going to be considered "military-style" by the Feinsteins of the world.

That's a real good point Johno. Wait till some asshole uses a semi auto Remington 30-06 or a lever action 45-70 on little bodies.

My Lord.
I know it's a lever action, but an "assault lever action" especially in 30-30, is about the most retarded thing ever.

The "sportsmen" using guns can surely do the same thing with spud guns or possibly lasers. So I'm not even entertaining this "shooting is a sport" line.

Just as you can jerk off instead of having sex with your boyfriend!

Shooting is a sport and if you knew anything about it lasers would not be the same at all. A bullet coming out of a gun is never 100% consistant. That right there is a big part of the sport of shooting.

Just because you like living in places where the man can crack down on you in a day does not mean we have to.

My bad, I thought you were posing the common libtard question "Why does anyone need to own such assault weapons?!"

I wouldn't mind having one of those for the hell of it if had everything else I wanted.

A good gun always shoots a bullet in a straight line so a laser is arguably a better sports tool than a noisy gun. Lasers can be silent, they can be hooked up to a video games consul, Internet etc. That's where the "sport" is logically headed anyway.

A laser can be a good training tool but most of us don;t want to give up the art or the feel of recoil and noise for a steril video game exp. unless your talking a blaster that can actually destroy stuff.

If what you wanted happens we might as well replace all sports with some video game BS.

No. A good gun shoots a bullet in an arc known as a trajectory.

Large capacity magazine, high rate of fire and *gasp* it's black and has "tactical" accessories on it. It's dangerous as hell, that is obviously.

Contrary to what the hunting poser Senator Manchin (West VA) thinks or says, the AR PLatform (AR15 and AR 10) is one of the most popular rifles for hunting today.

However, it's to Be expected, he somehow thinks the 2nd Ammendment is about hunting.
Arms are the only true badge of liberty. The possession of arms is the distinction of the free man from the slave.

I prefer dangerous freedom over peaceful slavery.

That's just fucking sexy!

I love the older stock and foregrips for the AR/M-16 better than the modern shit. Got to play with an old school M-16 when I worked at a range and I loved the feel.

With that in wood instead of bake-a-light it just adds pretty and class.

That thing is allmost to pretty to shoot! Allmost! =P~

Well, technically the gun does shoot it in a straight line (ideally). Air resistance and gravity make the trajectory more parabolic.

No. A trajectory is the path that a moving object follows through space as a function of time.

Are you messing with me?

Shoot your gun in space in some magical fixture that holds it in place. If your bullet's trajectory is an arc, then your gun is not good.

On earth that same bullet's trajectory won't be a straight line, but that shouldn't be because of your gun.

Actually that was a direct quote from an encyclopedia entry for trajectory. A bullet does not follow a straight line, a good shooter knows this and corrects for distance, wind, etc. by using the arc to their advantage. As far as shooting a gun in space, I have no idea what you are talking about.
