"I had to finally come to embrace not knowing why, and I had to embrace it because the more you try to figure out why, the harder it is to forgive."

When the story broke, I thought that she shouldn't have been fired. It was nearly ten years ago, consensual, etc, etc, etc. However, from reading here response, it must have felt so good for the university to get rid of her.

Every university I know of highly discourages consensual relations that cross the boundaries (instructor/student or supervisor/employee) and more importantly *require* you to report it to your boss so everyone can make sure there's no favoritism or chance for harassment.
