JETS JETS JETS!!!
SUCK SUCK SUCK !!!
What is the over/under for Rex Ryan to be JETTisoned from his coaching job? Days, Weeks, Month? When will they sit Sanchez and give Tebow a shot? In a grind it out type of game like last night against the Titans, Tebow would have worked. He's not pretty in any quarterback sense of the word, but he would rally the team instead of Sanchez moping after every bad play. They say Tebow can't throw, I agree to some extent, but Sanchez has the yips so bad, he's missing guys that are wide open. I'm not a Jets fan, but watching them on Sunday or Monday night football the last couple of weeks was painful. Watching Tebow play last year was really entertaining, watching the Jets the last two years is downright painful.

Re: JETS JETS JETS!!!
A Football Story
A long time ago before personal computers and cell phones, hell, before push button phones and before most of you were born, there were 2 football leagues, the NFL and the AFL. The AFL was considered to be an upstart organization but the older and wiser NFL thought they would have fun at the AFL's expense and so they started the Super Bowl. The NFL thought they were so powerful that they couldn't lose.
But before the third contest, there came a brash young quarterback from Pennsylvania by way of Alabama, who played for the New York Jets named Joe Willie. Joe wanted to win the Super Bowl for the Jets and the AFL and he guaranteed victory. Unfortunately Broadway Joe (as he was sometimes called) needed some help, so he sold his soul to the devil. And his team won.
Shortly after this unsettling victory and before the devil could collect on his debt, the NFL and the AFL merged to form one big football league and the people were happy. When the devil saw how happy the people were and how successful the league was, he decided that Young Joe's soul was not payment enough for that victory. He needed more. He postponed collecting the soul of the famous yet mediocre quarterback and allowed him to finish his career with more losses than victories and more interceptions than touchdowns.
But what would satisfy the devil? He looked around and saw that young Joe's team came from the most populous city in the country. He then decided that he would extract his toll from the anguish, tears and heartbreak of New York Jets fans until Joe Willie's soul slipped this mortal coil in it's own natural time.
Until that time, the Jets could never win another championship and New Yorkers would be forced to listen to the critiques of the team by the now elderly and sometimes inebriated Old Joe on ESPN.
So for everyone who has enjoyed the last 40+ years of the NFL, you can thank Broadway Joe and the devil for being the springboard to success at the beginning and the New York Jets for being your doormats ever since.

Namath, mediocre? Okay, if you look at just stats. I know there's not a lot of football fans on this MA/backwater site(not my description) but I always thought Dan Marino was overrated because he was all about passing stats and not about winning a big game, and he's from Pa. too.

He would probably have been much better if they had the quality of surgery that we do today. He played half his career on Forrest Gump braces.DikTracy6000 wrote:Namath, mediocre? Yea, I saw him play in person near the end of his career in Bal'mer. As for my Sanchez prediction, I should have included hours and then days, since he's out.Cave Canem wrote:He would probably have been much better if they had the quality of surgery that we do today. Only thing they could do. Sanchez is a total head case now, and Tebow isn't ever going to be a full time starter in the NFL. May as well see what they have in McElroy.seeahill wrote:Sanchez benched. Tebow passed over. McElroy to start next week.
The problem with the J-E-T-S is Ryan. He should be a D coordinator at best. At the outside chance that you'd want him as your HC there would need to be an offensive genius brought in who had 100% complete control of that side of the ball, including personnel. Letting Ryan have a say in an NFL offense is like letting a 16 year old kid drive your Ferrari.

And now it just got weird.

http://espn.go.com/new-york/nfl/story/_ ... ets-jerseyThe New York Jets' quarterback controversy has entered uncharted waters -- as crystal clear as they may be.
A vacationing Rex Ryan was spotted and photographed Thursday sporting a tattoo of a woman who appears to be his wife, wearing only a green jersey with Mark Sanchez's No. 6 on it and posing in a way many would say resembles a crouching Tim Tebow.
