Hagel Confirmation Hearings

Post by cleaner464 »

I didn't realize that he had to testify in front of the Knesset.

Could be worse-- you could have Senator Rivers doing the questioning.

That was ugly. Hagel was completely unprepared or just a clueless arrogant dolt. Maybe both. If he couldn't handle McCain and Graham with questions he knew were coming, it says a lot about him. Israel is not his problem; Iran, Egypt, Paki, and Syria will be. He probably still gets confirmed, but he really damaged himself. Lucky for him the Menendez issue will give him some cover.

And the really great thing is when Hagel is SecDef he will go right back to one of the plans Rummy was trying to implement before 911 of a lighter, smaller, and more SF based deployable military.

Hagel's next challenge will be gaining the respect of the military. LP was a Democrat but a hard core and decisive leader. Hagel is a clown who suffers delusions of mediocrity.

Time will tell. Hope he figures it out.

I"m shocked that a Senator is little more than a clueless windbag.

But will still get confirmed and take charge of our Armed Forces and national defense.

What could go wrong?

True. There were better choices passed over for the job.
