My buddy jusy went to "Glock school" for the Feds and he was told of a case in Australia where a cops, Glock went of in the holster because the leather freyed and a piece caught the trigger and BLAM!
The vast majority of American cops carry Glocks. Before that, they carried Smith & Wesson revolvers. Neither gun is equipped with a safety.

I am aware of that. does not change the fact that the Glock does have bit more of it's share of AD's. Granted most AD's are user error but the design lends itself to that if you don't use a kydex or newer holster and you can;t Mexi carry at all. Now alot will say "You don;t need to do that." but I can see where you get up after hearing a bump in the night and then find that the threat is not one to be shot so you want to slip your pistol in your waste ban. It might be afew years from now when my boy tries sneaking back in the house after sneking out and he needs a smacking to reiterate that sneaking around daddy's house at night is a stupid idea. I can think of a bunch more reasons for the option. I have heard of agents snagging them on the drawstrings of their windbreaker while holstering them and BANG!.
I just think it would be an even better gun than it is with grip safety. People falsly think a chambered Glock is safer than a cocked and locked 1911 or Hi- Power and that is not the case at all.

The reson the Glock has "its" share is that they have the numbers.
My son is a cop, he carried a Glock 21 for several years before going to a 1911. He used leather duty holsters for both, leather Yaqui slides for both in plain clothes and leather IWB holsters for both off-duty. It's only a problem if you are.

Have you handled an M&P? They feel (and point) more like a 1911 than a Glock, and they can be purchased with a thumb safety.
