Well they actually do in many places there now and all the cars have sub guns or real assult rifles, but yeah it would be nice if Officer Friendly did not have a gun so if you were tired of his shit or he was an abussive fuck dropping him on his head and kicking him stupid is on the menu.Blaidd Drwg wrote:Plus...in Limey Land..cops have no guns..DARTH wrote:Turdacious wrote:Wait-- BD likes dramas about Officer Friendly?

We would have been on them like pitbulls on a hog in my old hood if the BSO went around without guns.

Page Eight-- movie length political/spy drama. A modern take on the Smiley series. It isn't on par with the Le Carre's work, but it's well done. Hopefully they make a few more.

FUCK YEAH!
I had a boss kind of like that years ago!
We drove around SoFla. as the layout team for a drywall company (we laid out the non supporting walls for the Metal Framers.) In the mornings, when he met with the boss he would say "Go do your job."
My job was breaking up a1/8th oz of dank weed, so we had a supply of joints for the day.
We'd crank WXPX, a real alternative radio station that played all kinds of shit. Slayer, DK, the Cure, PE, Soundgarden ect. There were times when it was strait out of Cheech and Chong!
We got alot of work done and rarly made a mistake laying out the walls though.
I would do something like #2. You all think I Kirk out because I go off in writting or conversations about shit with friends but I am actually very calm and sarcastic when dealing with assholes or worse.
You picked a perfect one for my Bad Wolf and I thank you.
I have to get that shit!

Glad you liked it. I know too little about 70's rock to get half the references but the series is really fucking good. Steve Coogan has done a number of otehr things i watched but this is by far my fav.

Watched a couple episodes of Midsomer-- mysteries themselves were well written, but bland main characters. Meh. Lewis is much better.Blaidd Drwg wrote:Rome and Inspector Lewis I forgot about!
Lewis is kinda slooow...Can you do Midsomer Murders? It puts me to sleep but has good dialogue and character development.

Not yet. FWIW, Lewis gets better after the seasons available on streaming. James' character is much better written.Blaidd Drwg wrote:True. but there's not as many Lewis available streaming and Midsomer puts me to sleep. You try Saxondale?Turdacious wrote:Watched a couple episodes of Midsomer-- mysteries themselves were well written, but bland main characters. Very catchy title for 2nd season, XIII.2. I thought it was already dragging after one season.Ed Zachary wrote:Not Limey TV but anyone watched XIII?

Totally.
Little cheesy..(duh) but mildly gritty and they kill off main characters at a drop of a hat.i can respect that.

I thought MI-5 was pretty good, more watchable than 13. How many times can script writers use the old I got hit in the head(shot in the head, grazed on the side of head, fell into really cold water, etc) and don't remember my past?Ed Zachary wrote:What about MI-5? Worth watching?

Perfect Spy-- not up to par with previous Le Carre adaptations, gets good if you make it through the first few episodes, but not impressive overall.
