Mad Men
I could've sworn that there was a Man Men thread in the review forum but couldn't find it. Anybody know of one? I thought Shape started.

Re: Mad Men
I recall a Mad Men thread saying, essentially, "Why isn't there a Mad Men thread." Nobody answered IIRC. The name "Don Draper" has been invoked.

Re: Mad Men
I think it was a Christina Hendricks boobies thread.

Re: Mad Men
Well, I was thinking of watching it after Season 3 of Game of Thrones finishes up and I was just looking to see what people thought of it. No big deal.
Thanks, all.
Thanks, all.

Mickey that's some of the best television evah, no question. For those of us who were kids or older during the 60's this show is a true masterpiece. Don't hesitate to watch it but you need to start from the beginning because you'll miss the subtle references to things in the past some of which are vital to understand these most beautifully fucked up people.

Apparently if your family is as fucked up as mine is, then you're good to go. Otherwise, you'll need a History Channel refresh, IIRC.Ed Zachary wrote:What about those of us that aren't that old?Shapecharge wrote:Mickey that's some of the best television evah, no question. Re: Mad Men
Loved it. Watched the first three seasons on netflix and then rented four and five on blockbuster. Totally worth it.

It's vapid, shallow eye candy with no redeeming literary or cultural merit.
Plus there are no zombies.

You could post this in every TV thread, unless the show actually has zombies.Blaidd Drwg wrote:It's vapid, shallow eye candy with no redeeming literary or cultural merit.

Then, leave out the second of your lines.

Re: Mad Men
I was born in 1970 so that was a little before my time but I have always thought that era was pretty cool with the suits and style and the way women knew their place. The only thing better about our current era is that the girls are all whores and love to fuck now.
I'm gonna check it out.
