His real argument is that there was essentially nothing wrong with back alley abortions in the first place-- it puts pro-choice activists in a difficult position.

No it doesn't. Back alley abortions, by definition, can't be legislated away unless you make legal ones easier and cheaper than the alternatives.

Gosnell is a licensed MD with a history of uninvestigated complaints for unsanitary conditions who is also accused of consistently breaking state law.

Abortion wouldn't be necessary except in extreme cases if sex education and birth control was available as a public health measure like vaccinations.

Despite that being crowed about for years, there are no facts to back it up. Parental socio-economic status is the most important factor. If our politicians were serious about doing something about it (and they're not), they'd reform welfare policy.
