Re: .."was not motivated by political bias"
Just to be fair, both parties engage in this stuff when they control the levers of power, but only the Dems have the "get out of jail" card with the press.
If this had happened during the Bush presidency, and it was liberal organizations that were targeted by the IRS; we'd never see the end of the news stories about how our Republic was devolving into a Dictatorship and Police State. Granted, we are well on our way, but only Republicans are blamed by our anointed press corp.

So Proto can follow along.WASHINGTON (AP) — The Internal Revenue Service inappropriately flagged conservative political groups for additional reviews during the 2012 election to see if they were violating their tax-exempt status, a top IRS official said Friday.
Organizations were singled out because they included the words "tea party" or "patriot" in their applications for tax-exempt status, said Lois Lerner, who heads the IRS division that oversees tax-exempt groups.

So demonstrably true. If only there were some way to get conservative leaning news, on air or online.Batboy2/75 wrote: but only the Dems have the "get out of jail" card with the press.

Yeah, one cable news outlet and a bunch online blogs vs the establishment. The libs are wetting their collective panties becuase two pro gay marriage Libertarians want to buy the LA Times. The media establishment is solidly Liberal. Pretending otherwise is a waste of time.BucketHead wrote:So demonstrably true. But I thought the victim card was also solidly liberal, but your original post makes me question that, as well.Batboy2/75 wrote:The media establishment is solidly Liberal.

I know it's true, because I just listened to Rush Limbaugh, Sean Hannity, and Mark Levine tell me on talk radio.Batboy2/75 wrote:Yeah, one cable news outlet and a bunch online blogs vs the establishment. Actually Levine didn't tell me. He yelled it to me.
The mainstream media bought the Iraq war hook, line and sinker. That wasn't exactly a liberal project. Meanwhile CBS is doing the best investigative work on Benghazi.
Don’t believe everything you think.
Re: .."was not motivated by political bias"
Hillary, John Kerry, Joe Biden, Harry Reid, and Chuck Shumer all supported the Iraq War. Not exactly a conservative solo effort.nafod wrote:The mainstream media bought the Iraq war hook, line and sinker. That wasn't exactly a liberal project. But the mainstream media has excused the Dems for their part in it.
Re: Benghazi, Fox has kept the issue alive and CBS's Cheryl Atkinson has done much heavy lifting when her mainstream colleagues moved on to Michelle's bangs, followed by the Jodi Arias trial.

^^^ This! And then they and the DNC worked to gether to fuck the war effort and the Troops up the ass to get political power. No one but Fox and talk radio opinion shows and a few on the net seemed to remeber all the Dems that were for it before they were against it.johno wrote:Hillary, John Kerry, Joe Biden, Harry Reid, and Chuck Shumer all supported the Iraq War. A GI stubbed his toes there, the press would say "3 Soldiers killed" bu after Obam took over you get a few guys waisted in a firefight or bombed and the amount of coverage and press outrage and subtle 'war is evil" just was no where near the same.
Good friend of mine was involved in an event where a market got bombed but no Americans were there. They turned on the TV later and the fucking embed from NBC with them files a report saying multiple Marines killed and wounded, footage from another event spliced in and al that shit.
Battalion commander called the reporter in and told him he could no longer guarantee his safety advised him to get the fuck out of camp before the sun went down.
The press is supposed to be sceptical of everyone, even people they like. There have always been biases, some worse than others but we have reached a new high of so many of the press and media picking a side and then doing whatever they can to help it look good.
On a million things, if Obama was a white Republican, he'd make Bush II look like Reagan, JFK, Lincoln and Washington combined in people's eyes.
He makes me nostalgic for Bill Clinton. At least he was more politician than ideologe and could be moved to make decent deals and get shit done. Part of that was Gingrich and Lott pushing him and working with him.
Maybe if Boner was not such a cunt too Barrack O' Love the Cocka might be a tad more interested in doing his fucking real job and not fulfilling his University days heroes dreams?

I just need to get the fuck farther away from DC and then I can hope a meteor or a missile hits it and kills them all, Dems, Repugs, Media whores, Cocktail cunts and Kaz's favourite zoo animals.
Because then my kids won't be near it but close enough to watch the light show and say " Now this is the new Independence day, complete with fireworks."
I live 30 minutes from the World's biggest whorehouse and there is diseased cum all over the place!

Who gives a shit?
This whining about "media fairness" seems to be the main complaint of my Republican friends.
So the media is biased. Who gives a shit? I don't pay any attention to what they say. Why do you?
And lets get right to brass tacks: what are you going to do about it? Tune in to Fox News tonight? Write a sternly worded letter to the editor?
STFU and stop whining about how unfair TV is.
"Know that! & Know it deep you fucking loser!"

Seeing as a lot of voters still go buy what the media gives them to make their decisions you should give a fuck.

Re: .."was not motivated by political bias"
Because media is now part of the front line of the war of ideas. Libs and the MSM want to ghettoize Fox and other right wing news and are implementing classic Alinsky: "Pick the target, freeze it, personalize it, and polarize it." The right is doing the same with the MSM.protobuilder wrote:Boo hoo hoo!Batboy2/75 wrote:If this had happened during the Bush presidency, and it was liberal organizations that were targeted by the IRS; we'd never see the end of the news stories about how our Republic was devolving into a Dictatorship and Police State. Because the MSM is still considered an honest information broker by a significant percentage of the people, it's essential to the right that they be held accountable for a balanced presentation of news and events.
To do less is to lose ground in the battle for the minds (and donations) of the sheeple. In a country with elections that could go either direction at any time it's battle stations 24/7.

Re: .."was not motivated by political bias"
We need some press that looks into them all, even if a journalist personally agrees with a view of a politicain he should still do his fucking job and come at shit with a sceptical eye.
Fox is notheing great, just better than MSNBC, CNN, CBS and ABC but not by far.
And they have a fucking tabloid show feel to a lot of their shit.
We need more Edward R. Murrows, who looked those in power like a junk yard dog looks at one' Kaz's favourite folks by the fence.
