Kelly Starrett on the Joe Rogan Podcast
Yes, he's deep in the @Fit, but Kelly has a lot of good stuff to teach. Lots of folks-including me-have benefited from his videos and I've had a few 1:1 PT sessions with him that made a huge difference and fixed some crap.
He's out pimping his new book and did a long session with Joe Rogan. http://podcasts.joerogan.net/podcasts/k ... en-cordoza
Lots of interesting stuff about fixing bad structure and form and getting after bad mechanics before you blow out an ACL, tear something etc. It's a bit long at about two hours, and there's a bunch of Joe Rogan spouting off about MMA which does nothing for me, but it's still worth a listen.

No. Starrett said nothing useful on this, but sure made it sound like he could do magic.
There was nothing on that podcast you could take and do after listening to it. You'd have to go watch some vids or read his book.
1 on 1 session I'd love to experience, but it's clear to me he's drunk his own koolaid now. I have to filter his shit through Bell and Thompson. There is too much noise in his signal now.

I think calling out his ego and the fact that he didn't say specifically HOW to do this stuff is a point well taken. However, the concept that people need to take ownership of bad form and put in the constant work to fix it is important, and I think it serves the purpose of saying "hey-maybe I should check out those videos".

I really don't know how athletes functioned before we had all this mobility and movement screen bullshit.

Less bothered by the bullshit about watching the Olympics and seeing easy ways to make all the athletes faster (really? all the money spent on Olympic training and a Crossfit trainer sees this?) than repeated references to all the Black Ops Ninjas he's training.

Ok. I take some of it back...last hour of the podcast it got a bit better.
However, the constant claims of training 'ninjas', professional athletes, and Olympic champions would have you believe that he's too busy to write or film shit, and he's clearly not.
I think there is great merit in a lot of what he says, mbut his claims that nobody did this until npw

Ferris, BMac, Asprey, and Starrett to a degree are all hucksters.
So they have a few things that are good but a stopped clock is right twice a day.

Re: Kelly Starrett on the Joe Rogan Podcast
I feel like some of his emphasis is misguided. Normal people are fucked up because they're sitting all day, slumping forward, etc.. If people were walking/standing more and had better posture, 99% of what he talks about on Rogan would be fixed.
