I love MMA and it can give you a great base but if your going to be a fighter you should carve out some time to train for the street and that means weapons, evasive, entering and escaping footwork.
And not being an arrogant cocksuker.
He and his other MMA buddy was having a fight, they were being a pack in for the kill.

So, evidently he walked up to miss young thang and tried to play some game. When she wasn't having it, he threw his drink in her face.
I say fuck him. That's an asswhipping that I would have never caught because I don't go around in public acting like a nigger. When you act like a nigger there's a chance that some hard boys will call you on it, and then you get the bums rush and that's all she wrote.
LOL at his stupid ass doing the chicken dance when he got hit the first time while still standing in the store.

I mean if you are lucky, then that bad guy from behind your back with the stick will hit your friend instead of yourself and therefore you will have time to turn to him and try to defend yourself.
And even face to face armless against stick.... 100 to 1 that guy with stick will break your arms and head.

The only training they needed is called common fucking sense.
Don't act like thug
Don't hang out with thugs
Don't hang out were thugs congregate
the moment it looks like shit is going down, leave
99% of life's potential violent encounters can be avoided following these rules.
If shit does go down, your job is to fight your way to an escape route. Hanging out, talking trash, and beating your chest is just asking for a beat down, curb stomping, knife between the ribs, and or a bullet in your brain basket.
The dumb asses deserved what ever they got. Same goes for the guy in the red jacket and the 2x4. His cowardly ass is toast. Unless he hides in the darkest part of the Amazon, he's in for an epic beat down and death. Every local Brazilian MMA fighter or MMA fighter wantabee is gong to be hunting his scalp.

Arms are the only true badge of liberty. The possession of arms is the distinction of the free man from the slave.
I prefer dangerous freedom over peaceful slavery.

Aside from Batboy's excellent comments about not being a stupid asshole (and the more you train for the street the more you realise you will not be pulling a Bruce Lee, stand in the center and take them all on and should avoid dumb shit.)Wild Bill wrote:I think there no any defense technique against stick on the head from behind.DARTH wrote:... but if your going to be a fighter you should carve out some time to train for ...

There is not planting yourself in one spot, not getting into the centre of the group, you put walls and corners to your back if you can't smash and escape right off. You keep moving as much as possible and if you can you carry some kind of weapons on you or pick something up to use. If you train with weapons, trust me, you see weapons everywhere.
There are no guarantees, anyone can get fucked up and dead. But when your whole thing is pure brawling, you are much more limited when you have to face more than one guy, or one guy who has a blade or stands back, pulls a gun and shoots you. (yes you should even train some for the forlon hope of that kind of thing. A slim fucking chance beats no chance at all.)

One of the Tripp [Sambo] brothers had a list like Batboy about staying out of trouble. It's a far better way than relying on fighting skills.

I think the rules were.
1. Don't hang with people who drink, do drugs, sell drugs.
2. Don't hang out at places where there is drinking, drug use, drug sales.
3. Don't mess with anybody's family, spouse, etc.
4. Do what gandma would tell you to do...wear your seat belt, don't jump out of airplanes, lock your door at night, don't go jogging in the park at midnight, etc

Maiquel Jose Falcao Goncalves and Kaue Mena have been cut from the Renovacao Fight Team following their participation in a street fight last weekend.
RFT head Marcelo Brigadeiro this week issued a statement to Portal do Vale Tudo detailing his decision to release Falcao and Mena from his squad.
Security camera footage of the incident surfaced this week which showed Falcao and a woman exchanging words at a gas station cash register before the Bellator middleweight appeared to slap her in the face with his wallet as she turned to leave.
The woman returned a short time later with three male friends, one of which staggered Falcao with a straight right hand after a brief face-off. Following that initial strike, both sides began to swing wildly inside the gas station convenience store. The fight was continued outside near the pumping stations, with one individual flooring Mena with what appeared to be a large piece of wood. As the undefeated fighter lay unconscious from the blow, he punched and kicked in the head numerous times. The confrontation landed both fighters in the hospital. Though Falcao was treated for minor injuries and released, Mena reportedly remains in serious condition.
“Initially, I would like to make it clear that according to my interpretation of the facts, I do not believe that anyone involved is innocent, everyone [erred], to a greater or lesser extent. The actions of Maiquel Falcao that triggered whole matter -- although it was not an assault as many would characterize -- were disrespectful and not compatible with the behavior of an athlete. The reaction of the attackers was in turn exaggerated, cowardly and criminal. Kaue Mena, who is in a coma at Hospital do Coracao in Balneario Camboriu, also carries with him a share of the blame for what happened. As a professional MMA athlete, you should not be in the street at the hour of the incident.
“Also, make it clear that the attitude of these two athletes does not reflect the behavior of our entire team. We are known for being one of the most victorious teams in the world but also for being a true family of athletes and good men; suitable character and exemplary behavior is expected of true martial artists. The attitudes of Maiquel Falcao and Kaue Mena were not consistent with what is preached and practiced by me and my students, and it is not what is expected by our sponsors and business partners.
“I understand that as professionals and martial artists, [we] should not and cannot be associated with night life, fights and alcohol consumption. Our duty is to serve as an example for society and especially for children, who see us as heroes.
“Anyone who knows me knows the immense love I feel for my work and my students, whom I treat like my children, including Maiquel Falcao and Kaue Mena. However, as a teacher or "father," as they call me, I do not and I cannot close my eyes to the failures of my boys. For all the above, it is with a broken heart and a great sadness that I report officially that Maiquel Falcao and Kaue Mena are no longer a part of Fight Company/RFT.
“Finally, I hope that this tragedy will serve as a lesson to us of all. May we realize how much a simple and unfortunate action can negatively and permanently affect our lives. Those who are starting in our profession understand that choosing to be an athlete is not a career choice but a philosophy of life that implies sacrifice, discipline and obedience.”
Falcao, 32, most recently competed in the Bellator cage following a one-and-done stint in the UFC nearly three years ago. “Big Rig” joined the Viacom-owned promotion last year and fought his way to victories over Norman Paraisy, Vyacheslav Vasilevsky and Andreas Spang to win the Season 6 middleweight tournament. Falcao would come up short in his bid to become Bellator world champion, however, as he was knocked out by two-time tourney winner Alexander Shlemenko while vying for the vacant belt this past February at Bellator 88.
Ten years younger than Falcao, Mena began his pro career almost four years ago and rattled off seven straight wins, with only a 2012 no-contest marring his record in that span. The featherweight prospect most recently competed on June 7, when he stopped Roberto Caetano with first-round punches under the Alto Vale Fight banner.

Re: AS REAL AS IT GETS!
From a guy that does and coaches MMA, also does FMA, Krav and CQB (and a traditional background) and was SF.
Barring the excellent and "No shit" of some of the post here about staying out of trouble (but trouble can find and single you out sometimes.) he makes a good technical point here.
"I am posting this as a benefit to my MMA students and the other schools I have done seminars for, because this depicts a prime example of why the need exists of addressing the attack with the appropriate defense when translating MMA skills to the street, like I teach in my Elite Combatives program. Falco's inappropriate slapping a girl ends him in a street confrontation and is attacked with a weapon and rather than dealing with the attack attempts to distance like in the cage. Like I always say at seminars 80% of MMA skills are directly translatable for the street, the other 20% will get you killed rather than hurt, especially when dealing with multiple attackers and weapons and why you also need something like Krav, FMA, CQB or the Elite Combatives (which blends my Instructor creds/background in all three) that I teach to supplement. Train hard, be safe! " Dude I know on FB (and by reputation through others I know in RL)
This is why IMO a lot of the "MMA rules, your shit drewlz!" "Combatives are not a sport, only this deals with reality, buy my home study coarse!" or "Traditional arts are the mother of all! Now join the Black belt club and you'll have the honor of blowing the Grandmaster!" is fucking dumb.
You need a solid base in one and methods from the other 2 IMO if you want to be a comprehensive martial art6ist and have good odds of dealing with what may come.
If all you do is pure sportive,(With no wish or thought to even crosstrain in anything else) and you are decent at it then you will be a tough mutha, know how to take a hit and give them back (or slam, td, throw, graple ect.) have a good head in a fight. You also MIGHT be vulnerable to instinctivly fighting as per a rule set and might depend a lot on your athleticism in a street fight.
If all you do is pure CQC, RBSD ect and you are decent at it, then you will be a dirty motherfucker, have a good sense of tactics and awareness and anti weapons skills. Decent hitting and application, but you also might be to ingrained with "If he does this, you do this" and might go to shit when shit goes nuts or Murphy shows up and lays down his law.
If all you do is" traditional MA", well you will have good mechanics, a decent arsenal of technique, a lot of commitment, maybe some weapons skills? but you also might not be able to take a hit for shit and have a sterile idea of what a street fight can be.
The answer is not all of one or all of another, unless you just really want to specialise in one and don;t care about anything outside of it. But then be honest about it. It's better to be in a school that has a solid base in one and adds elements of the others.
At our school we do Combat and Aiki Ju Jutsu as out alpha so you have essentially a H2H and Traditional art melded out of elements of Ju Jutsu, Judo, H2H combat and Aiki Ju Jutsu. This is what you get ranked in The Beta is Pekiti Tarsia (Arnis, most PK consider themselves Kali but who cares?)mixed with elements of Silat and tinysprinkle of some Wing Chun for footwork, defenses in the long and mid range and weapons skills and striking) and then we spend time doing Pugilism (Boxing but with an eye towards not concerned with sportive tactics.) and we grip up and Grapple on our feet and on the ground. We've also sparred al in MMA style (and then threw training weapons in there, FUN! and will be phasing that way again. (Can;t do everything at once.)
I'm not going to say we are the grand ultimate of death but we have a solid foundation that we build on and so far since we broke off from a pretty strait down the line Combat and Aiki Ju Jutsu school ( He stopped honouring and trying to suppress the outside influences of Trooper Tirey) we are 5 and 0 in real fights since our foundation in June of 09. (1 me, 1 a novice with balls and 3 a CO, and I don't count the restraining a drunk in intake or locking up the unruly shit with him, these are strait up Apes trying to smash him.
There are some damn good martial artist, grapplers and fighters at this Bad Place we have here, and the smarter ones do get food for thought form each other and all could learn from each other in person.
And yes, trig to stay out of trouble is a great idea, as long as your not a complete pussy, a shit eater or a coward.
