Meh. A notorious race baiter is in the lead for NYC mayor; and the Central Park Five still waiting for their wrongful conviction money, but the focus of Jackson and Rev. Al is on Zimmerman? Amazing to see what's forgivable and what isn't.

A little sanity:
http://www.lawyerherald.com/articles/35 ... family.htmAfter the acquittal of George Zimmerman of second degree murder and manslaughter on Saturday evening, many have taken to the streets to protest in cities throughout the U.S. Those who have vented their outrage to the verdict have also taken to social media. One 'mash-up' photo on Twitter of civil rights icon Martin Luther King wearing a hoodie has become a sensation online, but it also generated some anger within his family.
After the acquittal of George Zimmerman of second degree murder and manslaughter on Saturday evening, many have taken to the streets to protest in cities throughout the U.S. Those who have vented their outrage to the verdict have also taken to social media. One 'mash-up' photo on Twitter of civil rights icon Martin Luther King wearing a hoodie has become a sensation online, but it also generated some anger within his family, news reports said.
The artist Nikolas Smith reportedly created the mashup photo.
"Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. would very likely not wear a hoodie," said Alveda King, the leader's neice said on the Andrea Tantaros radio show Tuesday. Alveda King is a former state representative in Georgia.
"I can assure you he would not wear sagging pants. I don't even think I've ever even seen his sons with sagging pants." King added that the verdict has been reached and American must respect it, a sentiment echoed by U.S. President Barack Obama.

Re: The motherfucking BALLS on Ann Coulter
Removing the situation of the deceased from this conversation for just a moment, I would like to point out something I have noticed. Some, not all mind you, but some, perhaps even the majority of black people whom I've observed over the past few years, aged 12 to 30, seem to be obsessed with projecting a thuggish image befitting criminals and gangster types.
Maybe it's just where I've lived these past several years that's skewing my exposure of "black 'culture'" towards those they're least proud of, but suffice it to say, the majority of them dress and behave like thugs, that I've observed.
And as a whiteboy with a shaved head, tattoos and Doc Martens, I can't really point a finger at that. After all, I don't exactly look like a White Champion of Civil Rights to them, either (and I don't care).
HOWEVER- I never shot one of these folks. Not even when they walked through my yard. Because well, I'm not going to blow somebody's head off unless they're pointing a gun at me.
And none of them ever do. Mostly they just leave me alone, and I leave them alone and I'm comfortable with that.
I don't know what happened that day. The media blows all kinds of shit up. So do religious leaders and everybody else.
But the fact remains, no reasonable person wants to actually kill a teenage boy, no matter how unruly or boorish he behaves. Because -and you're free to disagree with me here- I believe there's hope for kids, that they'll pick educating themselves and getting jobs, instead of being criminals.
That's why if I see legit suspicious activity, I call 9-1-1, and I do as instructed and I don't follow the perpetrator. Instead I go inside, lock my door and wait there with a hungry pit bull and a loaded shotgun.
In other words, i try to avoid trouble and give others the benefit of the doubt.
As to Ann Coulter, she does make a lot of points which I do agree with here.

When Ann Coulter, who I generally find to be repulsive in nearly everything she writes or says, makes more sense than 95% of the rest of the media, perhaps it's time to unplug for a bit.

I wonder if the fact that our hispanic neighborhood Paul Blart was carrying a weapon gave him the balls/bad judgement to confront Trayvon that he wouldn't have had if he had been unarmed.Terry B. wrote:Fat, bald guy walking around packing a gun and a bit of an attitude? I wonder if Trayvon ever considered calling the cops and reporting a stalker, instead of calling his chunk-a-lunk girlfriend.
Reminds me of a flying mishap. Plenty of opportunities to avoid this.

No gun expert here, but the Kel-Tec's I've had in my hands were junk. Still usable obviously.Kazuya Mishima wrote:In all seriousness, I'm buying a Kel-Tec PF9 in his honor.Gorbachev wrote:New IGx logo: "We are George Zimmerman"?

They are suspect in my mind, but the PF9 has gotten great reviews. I know it has stopped a gay-bashing, hash fueled, Skittles sugar crazed assailant at least once.DikTracy6000 wrote:No gun expert here, but the Kel-Tec's I've had in my hands were junk. Pretty affordable...I'm going to get one with the Crimson Trace as another conceal and carry option.

OTOH, my neighbor, a 3-tour VN vet and Marine Drill instructor carries one. I should have said that originally.Kazuya Mishima wrote:They are suspect in my mind, but the PF9 has gotten great reviews. I was 17 once. I cannot imagine many situations where I would have called the police. You just don't do that when you are a 17 year old kid.I wonder if Trayvon ever considered calling the cops and reporting a stalker, instead of calling his chunk-a-lunk girlfriend.
Treyvon did not deserve to be shot and killed. The responsibility for that night is not on his shoulders. He was walking home. He was approached by an armed, aggressive thug. They fought and Treyvon started to win.
The thug pulled a gun and shot Treyvon through the chest.

According to the evidence, the two had separated without incident, and the budding young scholar doubled back to attack Zimmerman.
Let's not let the facts get in the way of some overly sympathetic narrative that paints our young antagonist in the most glowing of terms.

I agree w/this except the conclusion that Z was an aggressive thug. He might have been an aggressive thug but the evidence does not show that. Nor can one know if Treyvon was the aggressive thug which could be construed by his cell phone contents and racist characterization of Z - he may have just been a scared kid. No one alive today knows except Z.theAbstract wrote:I was 17 once. I cannot imagine many situations where I would have called the police. Neighborhood Watch programs are as American as apple pie.

Re: The motherfucking BALLS on Ann Coulter
Each person is responsible for their own actions. Trayvon was a juvenile, so along with himself, his parents and other influencers carry the load of not instilling in him the sense to walk away from a fight that you may or may not win once it starts.theAbstract wrote:I was 17 once. Zimmerman made egregiously fucked up decisions. He was the adult here. He should be held to the higher standard. Too many opportunities to ramp this thing down that were missed. Also, because he was a weak douche with only a lethal weapon, there was no middle ground between harsh words and a bullet in the chest, that say some BJJ training or some pepper spray would offer. There's a reason why we have conventional weapons along with our nukes. If you have to use them, you've failed.
Did Zimmerman let him know he was armed before Trayvon approached for the beatdown? Haven't seen it discussed. Not much of a deterrent when the other guy finds out you have a weapon as he gets shot. Kind of like the doomsday bomb in Dr. Strangelove.
Don’t believe everything you think.

Given the fact that George Shooter Zimmerman put a bullet in his heart, I would say that Treyvon's characterization of him as a "creepy-ass cracker" was probably justified.DrDonkeyLove wrote:I agree w/this except the conclusion that Z was an aggressive thug. I'll meet you half way at creepy-ass. His behavior could have triggered confrontation or rapid avoidance in me. As Nafod said, many opportunities to stop this from amping up were neglected. I think both sides saw what they expected to see vs. what was really going on. Tragedy ensued and continues to ensue.theAbstract wrote:Given the fact that George Shooter Zimmerman put a bullet in his heart, I would say that Treyvon's characterization of him as a "creepy-ass cracker" was probably justified.DrDonkeyLove wrote:I agree w/this except the conclusion that Z was an aggressive thug. Based the available evidence, both Zimmerman and Trayvon made mistakes that night. I could care less about your conjecture or what the press has said or not said. I'll stick with the available evidence presented in court.
The two mistakes; (1) Zimmerman deciding to get out of his truck and following Trayvon and (2) Trayvon deciding to assualt Zimmerman. However, only one person made a mistake that was illegal; Trayvon. While Zimmersons decicisons were stupid, they were not illegal. Trayvon's decission to assualt Zimmerman was illegal and opened himself up to be legally shot dead.

The evidence shows me that George "go big or go home" Z. had a gun and approached Treyvon.
The evidence shows me that George "no swag" Z. got his ass served in the fight.
And without doubt George "have gun will shoot" Z. put a bullet in Treyvon's heart.
Mistakes?
A man is home watching Sponge Bob Squarepants and a kid is six feet under.
I don't care what the law says.
This isn't right and if Trayvon wasn't black and their wasn't hullabaloo around it most everyone here would say this whole situation is pure poo.
