This is a little more harsh (i think) than the other things I have been trying. I could not sip it "neat." Adding one ice cube helped. A second ice cube made it quite nice.
I am going to try to pick up a few different whiskey's and do an in-home tasting.
I have noticed that that I do like adding an ice cube more than I like adding dabs of water. Water releases the flavor more, but I just like my drinks cold.

Had this again. Its a perfectly good beer but on reflection I prefer Dale's. Bluepoint hit where they were aiming with this tasty unique beer (Its described as a "Belgian IPA"; I'm not sure if that's accurate but it is like a combo of Belgian white ale and american pale ale/IPA). But for a go-to beer to keep in the fridge its hard to beat Dale's.davidc wrote:

Evan Williams Single Barrel is pretty damn good and a great bargain
Buffalo Trace is also a very good bargain and quite tasty
Red Breast is a great Irish whiskey but it's not cheap.
I discovered each of these fine spirits via the liver rotted denizens of IGx.

Probably a bit too harsh. I should say it sucks relatively. It is probably an average Double IPA. Edit: agreed that it's probably overrated on ba... which is why I picked it up to begin with.
I wasn't crazy abut this when I first had it, it grew in me. It's the best beer available at a local craft pizza joint, and it's double the size of their other craft brews...so I've given it a second chance or two and now I like it.theAbstract wrote:

Had this again a few times this week on vacation. This is such a great summer beer / session ale. It reminds me a lot of New Belium's Shift. Is not complicated but what it does, it does well. It's the perfect beer to have with seafood on vacation.davidc wrote:

Find out if you like peat, pick up a bottle of Ardbeg or Laphroaig and pour a few glasses (both are reasonably priced single malts). I just learned that a liquor store by me will let you sample, gratis. May be governed by state/local laws, but they have a whole cabinet full of open liquor, there for the tasting.
