That's messed up.
I was on that bridge in 2009. Nice views of the city but it was dangerous enough as it was with the traffic.

Wait, is this all to imply that the Arab Spring didn't quite work out there? Or anywhere else?
Are we to believe that democracy hasn't been good for our fine Arab and Middle Eastern friends?

Wait, is that a guy on the underside of the vehicle?
Is he alive and looking at or for something? Or is he dead, and how did he get there?
Egypt... this coup's not going so well. Maybe they'll do it better next time.

Just goes to show you, getting elected by a majority vote is no guarantee "they" will let you stay in office in that country till the next election.

The armored car backed off of the overpass; there is video of it.
I do think it's worth pointing out that our democracy had a few bumps in the road before it was stable.

I find it encouraging that the US has expressed unwavering support for Mubarak and the stability that he brings to the...I mean the military who deposed of that awful tyrant...I mean Morsi, the democratically elected Pres...I mean the interim gov't who finally got rid of the Islamic gov't.
It's not like $1.5b could be used for any other purposes.

The odds are worse for the Arab Spring than they were for the French Revolution, which was a bloodbath. Culture matters, and the Islamic world view is hostile to individual rights.

I just heard Obama say that the US will not support a regime that fires upon their own citizens and the US has...cancelled joint military exercises...for September.
The Onion couldn't write this crap.
