Good to see she's doing well. She's had a more impressive racing year in 2013 than BMack's entire career: http://ultrasignup.com/results_particip ... me=Corbett

exactamundo. She'd DNF repeatedly, which would be easier on her joints overall and give her more time to rest.

Now that the Pn'B may be dead, the couch thread should not be allowed to languish on page 2. What else is this board good for?

This board is good for just about everything else but the couch thread. This was dead as a nail two years ago and should have stayed that way.

The 35-year-old bodybuilder from Los Angeles has sparked an online storm after posting photos of herself lifting heavy weights on Facebook - with her due date just two weeks away.

15 lb. bumpers on a lady's bar = heavy weights now?

tho to be fair she's probably stronger than me.

The media doesn't know the difference between "big" and "heavy."

The ignorance of others largely explains Crossfit's success.

well, its not heavy, but I really question people's motivations who feel they have to push the envelope in the third trimester. Like they are going to win the baby olympics or something? Known too many who have lost little ones to do more than think these people are fucking idiots. No, you don't have to go on bedrest, but walking and growing a baby are plenty of exercise at that stage.

coming from the Xfit fold as you did, I'm surprised that you're surprised. Exercising through injuries, pregnancy, quadruple amputation etc. is a badge of honor.

Surprisingly, not exercising through "ring injuries" is also a badge of honor.

If I owned a gym, there would only be three bands whose music is played...Foreigner, Scorpions, and Run DMC.

I saw Foreigner a couple weeks ago in a little podunk town. They sounded great and the lead singer sang that shit like he was at Madison Square Garden.

So, revisiting the pregnancy thing:

Read this quote from the mom-to-be: "I have been CrossFitting for 2½ years," Ellison posted on CrossFit's Facebook page, "and ... strongly believe that pregnancy is not an illness, but a time to relish in your body's capabilities to kick ass."

This is what is wrong with people. Peer pressure based on bullshit. Remember the marathon runner who ran a marathon at 39 weeks? CF didn't start this disease, but its becoming a trend. Again, I think its selfish, I think posting pictures of yourself doing it is narcissistic, and what you are actually doing is throwing down the gauntlet to every other pregnant woman out there and saying if they decide not to exercise, they are treating pregnancy like a disease.

The risks are real and why unnecessarily risk the life of well-being of your baby? High intensity exercise increases body temperature and can temporarily reduce blood flow to the uterus. If for nothing else, coordination decreases during pregnancy, ligaments loosen, center of gravity changes. Falls are dangerous. Placental abruption leads to the immediate death of the baby. Nothing can be done. Not to mention the joint damage you can impart by overly stressing them when they are loose. Stress them too much and they don't come back. That's why women go up a shoe size after having a few babies. And why our ribcages get permanently bigger.

And, if your baby dies in utero, you have to go through a vaginal delivery. They don't knock you out and C-section you, you go through labor to deliver a dead baby. Talk about traumatic. Not really worth a snatch pr or some extra burpees.

What's wrong with moderation? Why does everything have to be about kicking ass? I think having a baby in and of itself is pretty kickass. No need to validate it by doing circus tricks and making a spectacle of yourself.

People seem to get more and more self centered and stupid by the year.

Look...blacks have 80% of their kids out of wedlock, and in a polyamorous manner that would make the people of Sister Wives look like June and Ward Cleaver...nobody says a goddamn thing.

Some pregnant white woman picks up 50 pounds and the Internet outrage machine hits "I hope the children of NRA members get shot at the mall" levels of mouth frothing indignity before you can say "there's more important shit to be worried about".

Everybody on both sides of the argument needs to back away from the screen and go take a walk outside.
