I can see that it is Paleo and even Levitical, but how a vegetarian decides it is okay is a conundrum.Turdacious wrote:Even Gabe Mott, who identifies as a vegetarian, has consumed his fair share of basil-flavored palm weevil.

the ethicist peter singer has written about these issues/my brother is a vegetarian who has decided for a number of reasons it is acceptable to eat fish--life expectations-ability to feel pain-and moreWildGorillaMan wrote:Cognitive dissonance, next question?Bob Wildes wrote:I can see that it is Paleo and even Levitical, but how a vegetarian decides it is okay is a conundrum.Turdacious wrote:Even Gabe Mott, who identifies as a vegetarian, has consumed his fair share of basil-flavored palm weevil.

gorillaman shouldn't be so cavalier about this topicMonkey brains are a controversial foodstuff, often attributed to Chinese cuisine, but also found in that of certain other countries. The practice of eating monkey brains has led to over-hunting in Indonesia, especially due to the belief that eating the monkeys' brain can cure erectile dysfunction.
In Africa, the Anyang tribe of Cameroon practices a tradition in which a new tribal chief would consume the brain of a hunted gorilla while another senior member of the tribe would eat the heart.

Vegetarianism has become somewhat vogue and you hear a lot more people identify themselves as "vegetarians...who sometimes eat fish and chicken and eggs and beef". Sort of like the paleo folks who love their cheese and ice cream - both do it to be able to lecture you about how what they eat is superior to what you are putting in your mouth.Bob Wildes wrote:I can see that it is Paleo and even Levitical, but how a vegetarian decides it is okay is a conundrum.Turdacious wrote:Even Gabe Mott, who identifies as a vegetarian, has consumed his fair share of basil-flavored palm weevil.
