I saw the comments on the youtube site before I posted my first post, and also watched the video looking for signs of skateboard park-ed-ness. No fencing, no other skaters, no ramps to be seen, trees spread around, pedestrians strolling...looks about as as much a park as the concrete on campus that the local skaters use for stuff.

How about don't let your kid wander into the middle of people skating/bicycling/etc?

Not all skate parks are engineered as skate parks originally., many are common areas that were bought up and in some places the city designates a skae park to keep the skate rats out of shopping centres.

There was one we hung at in So Fla that was like that. Just a common area around a flag pool with some curbs and shit added and designated a skating area.
