So for 10 fucking years, Terry B posts gay erotica and homosexual porn on the P&B and Bruvs world. He comes over to IGx and starts talking about real topics. Fuck you Terry.

It is unlikely Lemond was clean. He just took what everyone else was taking at the time.

In fact, Lemond rode in an era where it was much easier to get the shit, and testing was way less prevalent.

Correct. He went all out to threaten ruination and actually ruin. His former masseuse, Emily O'Reilly, suffered at his hands. Nasty, nasty shit. And Lemond - a TRUE fucking warrior whi did it before EPO an has greater natural talent than Armstrong (bigger lung capacity for a start and he came back after a hunting accident and won again). He also went vicious on Frankie Andreu's wife, Betsy. And on David Walsh, the Sunday Times journalist.

I admire the athletic accomplishments of Lance as someone who grew up watching Indurain, LeMond, Millar etc. Fucking animal on a bike. Single-minded and stone-cold. But as a human being, he's pretty fucked up and threw everyone under the bus to keep his own wealth intact. He's a top level international class cuntoid. Not the greatest cyclist ever. Don't say that cause it's not true.
No argument on the LA facts. Of course, I have issues with companies that financially supported legal and PR attacks and then dropped LA when the winds changes.

I have also never believed that Lemond was clean, even when he was riding. Oh, Floyd is dirty but not Lance...ok, Lance is dirty but not Greg. Wool meet eyes.
There was fuck all available to take in Lemond's day other than caffeine an amphetamines and frankly, whilst he may or may not have taken them, my view is that you could not turn a carthorse into a racehorse with that weak shit. He won with a level or almost level playing field.
BOOM

LeMond had the sense to get his win and then move on.
I seem to recall that a Tour De France thread was the ultimate undoing of the old Garage Gym board. Is that not so, Uncle Dan?

That seems redundant, IMO. Unless you mean it in the sense that erotica is what you like and porn is what you don't like.

You sound like a woman trapped in a man's body (in an erotic way).

He did. And now what goes around comes around. He'll still be rich anyway.

It's not even close...King Eddy.

LA can lay claim to best big tour rider due to his total domination of TDF...but GOAT?

That's the man right there.^^^

In GOAT status B. Hinault belongs ahead of LA as well.

Re: Blood Doping...

The Finnish runner Lasse Viren, "double-double" gold medal winner at the '72 and '76 Olympics in the 5K and 10K was suspected of it even back then.

You people suck at arguing GOAT status.

GOAT isn't actually a title for an individual athlete. GOAT is an individual accolade given out by fans based on their impression of the athlete, not on their actual accomplishments. For there to be interaction, the athlete needs to be at their absolute zenith while the fan in question is at an impressionable age. In the NBA, Oscar Robinson or Wilt would need to be at the top of the lists for GOAT if all were equal. However, for most of us posting here, MJ or Bird are the GOATs because they were at the peak of their skills while we were 12-20 years old. Bodybuilding? Arnold, right? Golf? Did you say Ed Hogan? Football? Porn? Nobody but Shaf knows of Ed Deen.

Cycling is the same thing.

Fuck your semantics.

Eddy Merckx is the greatest cyclist of all time by any objective or subjective metric you want to use.

Merckx, who turned professional in 1965, won the Tour de France and the Giro d'Italia five times each, and the Vuelta a España once. He also won all of professional cycling's classic "monument" races at least twice each (with 19 Classics victories in all).[2] Merckx was World Champion once as an amateur and three times as a professional, and he even broke the world hour record before retiring in 1978.

he is the greatest cyclist in this generation. Ever? Who knows, I don't follow the sport close enough.

He cheated, they all did, and they all paid for it, at least most of them did.

Where he was a massive ass was the level of shit he put people through who said he did cheat. A denial wasn't enough, he had to ruin them.

Show me Merckx's Facebook page or YouTube channel. Do you have a Merckx-strong bracelet? Has he banged both Sheryl Crow and Matthew McConaughey? Has he ever ridden with GWB?

Please.

People who have the barest understanding of the sport and can count wins know LA is perhaps the greatest Tour Rider ever..bur overall cyclist? Not even close.

LeMond never paid, Hinault never paid, Sean Kelly and Fingnon never really paid, Riis never paid, Merckx never paid....most of the greats even the ones who got busted ever really had to own up to shit..even when everyone knows the score. This is why the ones that stay quiet and off soapboxes are still revered and the twats like LeMond are despised.

Greatest overall cyclist?

Which rider has world championships and Olympic gold in three different cycling disciplines? It's none of those dudes.
