I'm wondering if I should be more concerned about you than I am about Rant. You understand that in a crime, there is a perpetrator and a victim, and that unless you describe both parties by race, you aren't really providing the information that aggrieved white conservatives really want out there.

This is a photo of a man who looks vaguely Polynesian. The woman is not described, but based on her name will be Hispanic, white, or black. I'm not sure how you think this violates the news industry's tendency to not describe race in crimes unless it is relevant.

You seem to be clinging to the fact I wrote "or even describes them". Guess what? A mugshot is both a picture and a visual description. And damn near any murder case story you find, racially motivated or not, has a mugshot or picture.

It's the newspaper's sound general policy not to mention race in a story, whether about crime or anything else, unless it has some clear relevance to the topic.

So when you complained they weren't including the race of the people involved, I said that's normal.
