Guest room ghost update!
So the ghost in the upstairs guest room, whom I have affectionately nicknamed "Old Scrumpy," was up to some marvelous tricks this week, lemme tell ya.
Firstly, we've (it and I) been on good terms, since I've set out a little bit of my good bourbon on Dunn's advice. The noises have been kept to a minimum, for the most part.
However, night before last, at about 2AM, according to the Future Mrs. Herr Doktor, Old Scrumpy was restless, and "dropping bowling balls on the floor in there..." Woke her up and startled her.
I have heard the noises she's referring to, of course.
And apparently yesterday, while I was at work, the Future Missus was upstairs vacuuming the carpet, and when she tried to get into guest room, the door wouldn't open. She could turn the handle, it wasn't locked, but she couldn't open the door, no matter how hard she tried. Wouldn't let her in...
And the noises were going in full effect last night after I got home and we'd eaten dinner and settled in for the evening.
Now, insofar as rational explanations for all this silliness are concerned, I have come up with these-
1. There could be large rodents in the walls making the scratching sounds
2. The weather here has been weird, and it could be that a change in pressure could have caused the door to stay shut tight and some swelling in the wood could have kept it stuck
But I still can't account for the "dropped bowling balls" sounds.
I don't own a bowling ball. And my kettlebells are downstairs.
Maybe the neighbor (I live in a townhouse) was moving furniture at 2AM? And yesterday evening as well?
Perhaps BUT- she can't hear my dog wailing when I leave for work in the morning, and I've never heard anything from her place before... The walls are super-thick. I highly doubt it's the neighbor.
Odd.
We'll see what happens in the coming weeks.
