One of the downsides of the Internet is that it allows like-minded people to form communities, and sometimes those communities are stupid.

The irony is fab.u.lous!

Bigots in the US are laughed at at home so set up shop other countries to make some $$$ and pray on ignorance. The exploited in Africa are then taught that Teh Gay is an evil emanating from the U.S., and then bigots back in the U.S. point at those Africans as examples of savagery justifying their own ignorance. Sometimes using a foul mouth with no style.

LOL at you blaming Americans for the shit that happens in Africa.

Savages, Muslims, the place where if your brother dies of AIDS you'r expected to fuck his sister. where the average IQ is about 70-80 and tribal genocides?

I think killing people for being homosexual is sick, but stop apologising an making excuses for them at the expense of us.

If there were not resources there, they would be even more fucked then they are now becuase no one would help them with shit. At least with westerners they get a few areas that are in the 20th Century an can just see the light of the 21st in the distance.

Gonnie fucking Goo Goo! Gus.

That story is crap-- lumping in Anglicans with evangelicals is ridiculous, especially when it's largely based on an excommunicated priest's word. Those who even know a little about modern Anglicanism knows that African Anglicans have a massive influence in the US-- it isn't just a one way street. It's like judging all Baptists by Westboro.

And lol at your insinuation-- none of the religious posters here are arguing that killing gays and lesbians is acceptable.

EDIT: why Senyonjo was actually excommunicated:
On 15th March 2006 I and all the people of Uganda woke up to read in The New Vision that Christopher Ssenyonjo, the second Bishop of West Buganda Diocese, had a new “Archbishop called Howard” in America, had formed a new denomination called the Charismatic Church of Uganda, and had consecrated a bishop.

I regret that Ssenyonjo did not have the courtesy to contact me personally about his decision to abandon the Church of Uganda and seek a new Archbishop. Our church canons (church laws) provide for a Bishop to relinquish the exercise of ordained ministry when he affiliates with another religious body not in communion with the Church of Uganda. When, however, a Bishop does not do that, our canons stipulate that he has abandoned the Church of Uganda.

Very different than the story he told NPR.

The bill divides homosexual behavior into two categories: "aggravated homosexuality", in which an offender would receive the death penalty, or "the offence of homosexuality" in which an offender would receive life imprisonment. "Aggravated homosexuality" is defined to include homosexual acts committed by a person who is HIV-positive, is a parent or authority figure, or who administers intoxicating substances, homosexual acts committed on minors or people with disabilities, and repeat offenders. "The offence of homosexuality" is defined to include same-sex sexual acts, involvement in a same-sex marriage, or an attempt to commit aggravated homosexuality.

I can't say I have a big problem with most of the criminalizations-- all of them (except gay marriage and sex between consenting adults) are criminal in the US, and should be. What two adults do in their own bedrooms is their own business IMO, and shouldn't be criminalized.
