According to Wikipedia, “The cereal pieces are ring-shaped (hence ‘loops’) and come in a variety of bright colors and a blend of fruit flavors (hence ‘froot’),” and not “fruit.

I knew that. I was a big dork and did a blind taste test in high school out of curiosity. I wasn't really ever allowed to eat them, raised by a health food nut, but got my dad to buy me a box for the experiment.
