6 years in the Corps as a pog bitch ammo tech. Spent my days slinging ammo boxes onto trucks. A few months in Iraq during the initial go in 2003. Got out as a sergeant.
After the Corps went to college and sauntered onto the rowing team. Managed to make it to the varsity 1 eight in my first year despite being all of 5'10 and 170 lbs. Was the shortest and lightest motherfucker on the team and only had the spot because the coach thought I was more aggressive than usual. Given most of the team was too friendly for their own good, was not much of a compliment.
After college and in my professional life have had a few bouts with the Starting Strength way of doing things. Never got far with it and have tried to go back to it numerous times (best is a 305 lb squat, 315 deadlift, and my lack of upper body strength is not worth mentioning). Trained with an olympic weightlifting coach for awhile and went to one competition, but marriage and job responsibilities killed that off early. My training history overall is inconsistency and eating like a bird. I've never touched a kettlebell and have observed @fitters in their natural environment but never participated.
I'm here for the white women and gifs thread, to start a training log, and because Shaf's ladders sounds like a good idea for a 32 year old accounting type person like yours truly. As far as personal beliefs in regards to race and politics, consider me in the same camp as Kaz and Turd.
And now, your requisite peace offering.
