The Hobbit 2: The Desolation of Smaug
I liked the first one, barring the initial 45 minutes of Dwarves dancing and doing the dishes.
The sequel was long, boring, repetitive, humorless and stuffed with unnecessary scenes that weren't in the book.
Probably 25 Orcs were decapitated as but one example of repetition.
I almost fell asleep in the final 15 minutes.
And the 3D didn't really add anything to the film, but is probably the reason I left the theater with a slight headache.

Confirms the initial criticism of this series...they're making THREE movies out of that one book?
Need more filler!!!

I tried to watch that shit twice, and fell asleep both times. 45 minutes in and they hadn't even left Bilbo's goddamn house.Bram wrote:I liked the first one, barring the initial 45 minutes of Dwarves dancing and doing the dishes.
This is what happens when you try to stretch one medium-length book in the three movies out of pure greed.

I'm waiting for the pron movie ripoffs of the series.

I remember Lord of the Rings, last 25 minutes of last film not withstanding, to be really solid. Haven't been able to get past minute 15 of the first Hobbit yet.
One of the downsides of the Internet is that it allows like-minded people to form communities, and sometimes those communities are stupid.

I'm surprised they didn't have Thorin, Gandalf, Bilbo, and the gang stop in at a Burger King while on their way to the Lonely Mountain.

I only slept a little bit through this episode so it was better than its predecessor. CGI was great. Dwarf's were boring as fuck. The dragon was the best character. Astoundingly, the theater was full.
