Most sports fans know that some members of the press made a big deal of finding androstenedione in Mark McGwire's locker in the late nineties when he was usually leading the major leagues hitting home runs.

I see that Randy barnes got a drug positive in 1998 for evidence that he used androstenedione. I took that crap from a company called OSMO in the late nineties and the thing I am positive of is it didn't do jack shit but make that company, OSMO, richer and me poorer.

I know that Barnes had been busted for AAS or testosterone before and that McGwire had been using the same, but it seems odd that anyone would believe that that product was performance enhancing.

Anyone here get anything from it? Even a placebo effect?

Androstenedione was not one of the few good prohormones, it was either ineffective or worse, some of the side effects with none of the benefits.

I think at the time it was a masking agent for real drugs, in that the test couldn't distinguish androstenedione from some real drugs. So people that got popped for those drugs would say they only used androstenedione.

I could believe that there were some people whose individual chemistry matched up with it right and they got some benefits, but if there were they were few and far between.

Yeah, the masking agent theory sounds more believable than the powers that be honestly thinking that stuff did anything on its own.

Androstenedione was used as a nasal CNS stimulant by the East Germans. It didn't work worth a fuck orally. There were some pro hormones that were pretty kick ass when made into an njectible, iirc.

Maybe was the case but test was always way cheaper and ready-made to set a man on the most direct path to excellence.

I did that shit. Maybe equal to like 10-15mg anavar a day. So nothing that noteworthy.

You didn't get much out of 10-15mg of Anavar?

Not 10-15mg in and of itself. No. Too low for me. Lowest amount of orals I found to have "feel" difference for me is 20mg Winstrol/day. Anavar is a soft touch.

I think that was the one prohormone I ever tried and the only thing I noticed from it was less hair on my dome.
