If you check my post, you will probably presume I am a fairly conservative guy politically.

You would be right, for the most part.

I am all for the Bill of Rights, Anti Communism, a strong Military (and the will to use it and let them do what they have to do.)

I think violent criminals should be made to pay and murderers and child molesters should be put to death.

And although on the state level there are elements of what I call traditional Liberalism that I think have a valid case I LOATH modern Liberalism and think, with Constitutional study backing this that it has no place on the Federal level.

The Federal Government is not here to wipe your backside, it's here to guarantee your rights under the US Constitution, regulate interstate and international trade, international diplomacy and National defence and to be there in the case of massive disasters beyond the scope of your town, county and state.

State's rights are a big deal, and it's the state level than many of our national debates really belong at.

But.........

A LOT OF CONSERVATIVES ARE JUST AS BAD AS LIBERALS (Neo Communist) when it comes to the Constitution and Constitutional Rights!

They use their personal dislikes to advocate for subverting the Constitutional rights of others.

I think a lot of them have never read the Constitution, their Constitutional knowledge is limited to what Rush Limbaugh and other sources tell them, they know a lot about what they care about but jack shit past that.

Same guy that will say (and rightly) that the Government has no right to restrict their 2nd Amendment rights based on what they MIGHT do with what they MIGHT have will then turn around and cheer lead to drug test people applying for social services because that person MIGHT be on drugs.

They will say "I pay for it!" Well you might pay 0.000001% of that person's assistance but we all pay for the roads so by their way of thinking Barney Fife can just pull their ass over and search their car because they MIGHT be up to something.

"Hey we all pay for that road!" Liberal Statist shouts.

I guess it's OK for the NSA to read your emails because that internet was invented by the government and someone who likes NSA spying is paying taxes too?

See along with the 1st Amendment that everyone cares about.

"Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the Government for a redress of grievances."

and the 2nd Amendment that Conservatives care a lot about.

"A well regulated militia being necessary to the security of a free state, the right of the people to keep and bear arms shall not be infringed."

We also have..

The 4th Amendment

"The right of the people to be secure in their persons, houses, papers, and effects, against unreasonable searches and seizures, shall not be violated, and no Warrants shall issue, but upon probable cause, supported by Oath or affirmation, and particularly describing the place to be searched, and the persons or things to be seized."

and The 5th Amendment

"No person shall be held to answer for a capital, or otherwise infamous crime, unless on a presentment or indictment of a Grand Jury, except in cases arising in the land or naval forces, or in the Militia, when in actual service in time of War or public danger; nor shall any person be subject for the same offence to be twice put in jeopardy of life or limb; nor shall be compelled in any criminal case to be a witness against himself, nor be deprived of life, liberty, or property, without due process of law; nor shall private property be taken for public use, without just compensation."

I care about all of them, because you subvert one, you open the door to subvert all. There are parts of the Constitution I don't like but they are there and you do not subvert it because Dylan Thomas does not like a few sentences.

The government needs probable cause to search you and your possessions.

You do not have to incriminate yourself.

There is a presumption of innocence and there is due process under the law.

You also might want to think about this? Whenever you let the law have access to you and your possessions, evidence can be planted or altered.

Same with a person’s body and information

They have been known to do shit like that from time to time.

So if you want Joe to piss in a cup before he gets assistance (because like it or not there are Social Services in this nation) the same reasoning can be turned around on you.

Got guns? Piss in the cup! Let us in your house! What kind of guns? Why are they not registered, Comrade.

Freedom is messy, it means for you to have freedom and have liberty of what you hold dear, you also have to put up with freedom and liberty of what you don't personally like.

Now some of these things that might bother you can be addressed, with in the framework of The United States Constitution

If Joe's on assistance and he gets busted slinging rock on Sisstrunk Blvd. well after he is convicted under due process in a court of law, you could take it from him. I'm down with that!

For the Libs: If I rob a store and I am convicted I won't legally own a gun any more.

See how that works?

Founders were pretty smart!

They were not of one ideology, they were of many and the made a system that reflected that.

Screw that up and we will have tyranny because all governments seek to gather power onto themselves, ideology be damned. Power is seductive to anyone who has it.

Give the Government too much power and you might find yourself getting loaded on a railcar to a "Camp" because you said or did the wrong thing that they did not like.

Get to that point and it might take a lot of killing and death to get rid of it.

Let's keep her, we already have neo commies in power here trying to erode it and fundamentally change it, we don't need conservatives giving them pathways to help them do it.
