I have a friend moving to San Francisco soon who is looking for somewhere to train. Calstrength and Catalyst are both weighlifting oriented but is there anywhere more PL friendly that is recommended?
TIA

I'd say on the bottom of that self-actualisation pyramid shit, proper decent coffee is in there with wifi, tits, food and shelter

World Gym has all the essentials. Tho, it shares some space with an @fit affiliate.

Diablo has been somehow linked to x-fit for quite a while, I think.Gary John wrote:Diablo Barbell in Concord.

Cal Strength is probably ~1 hour from San Francisco, IIRC. I would hazard a guess Catalyst is about the same, maybe a little less depending on when he'd be heading down there.
Diablo has to be a solid half hour to an hour.
Is your friend actually going to be in San Francisco, or a suburb?

I was at Diablo for a while, I guess before they got hooked up with xfit. Pros, they're good people, and knowledgeable, and they have pretty much any toy you could want to play with.
Cons, they are very much a WESTSYDE FOR LYFE!!!! gym, with everything that entails, and membership is very expensive (I had a friend who joked that membership should have come with a Diablowjob).

CSA gym in Dublin. It's about 35 minutes outside of SF in the east bay. Jesse Burdick runs the powerlifting there. Really nice gym and everything you need.
