Please never stop opining. This shit is awesome.
The moment the civil rights act and the great society was passed, black America gave up any and all pretenses of high standards and or excellence.
Indeed! It all makes sense.
Step 1: End segregation and outlaw racial discrimination
Step 2: ???
Step 3: Decline of Black America
It was all a front for a free Government hand outs for blacks and insuring a permanent voting block for the Democrat party. The Dems wised up and stopped lynching blacks. They smartly decided it was high time to set up a Plantation system that delivered 90% of the black vote.
Orrrr... Southern racist Dems went to the GOP when the GOP pandered to their racism.
One of the downsides of the Internet is that it allows like-minded people to form communities, and sometimes those communities are stupid.
Bat's a dunce. Civil Rights Act is one thing, Great Society another. The latter is the root of many current problems, the former not so much. Welfare was Bobby Kennedy's thing, not Johnson's - he just kept it rolling in his first term because he thought it was good politics. It was aimed at white trash as much as the boofers, probably more so.
There's more sources of historical information than Rush and Stormfront.
I'll help our resident cookie chef out since he's busy whipping up straw men.

Funny how that bit seems to slip through the cracks of Spells brain.
Southern Racists Dems never found a home in the GOP. For all their faults the GOP has consistently called for color blind society. That's what pisses off Dems and blacks. With a color blind society their are no goodies to hand out and no excuses for anti-social behavior.
The racists in the Democratic party never left the party, they just changed their stripes and tried to flush the truth down the memory hole. In short, most white democratic southern politicians weren't all out racists, but opportunists and by and large big fans of progressive politics. They'd be anything that would get them elected. Once segregation was doomed, they moved on and were quite happy to do so.
It's a pretty sweet con when you think about it. About ten years ago Al Gore had the balls to claim his father was hounded from office for supporting the civil rights act. The truth is Al Gore Sr. voted against the civil rights act and was one of the leading senators trying to kill the civil rights bill. Did he do it because he was racists? No, he did it because it would keep him in political power. BTW- Al Gore Sr. was hounded from office for being against the Vietnam war and a liberal weenie.
Arms are the only true badge of liberty. The possession of arms is the distinction of the free man from the slave.

I never said the civil rights act was the root of our problems. That just so happens to be the time when black society abandoned self-reliance and individual achievement and instead decided to become a permanent welfare class with no standards.

If you actually believe that they had an evil plan and it worked, resulting in today's reality, you are an actual no-shit whackjob.
What really happens is shortsighted dumbasses pandering for votes. Every time. Nothing else. That's why the constitution is so hard to change. Otherwise, we'd have Pat Robertson amendments restricting our rights to fuck, Jerry Brown laws limiting our right to think, and George Wallace laws forcing some crazy assed liberal racial purity code.
The politically savvy patriotic American is a rabid Bill of Rights zealot. All of them, all the time, for every citizen.

I believe the civil rights movement was more about power than creating an actual color blind society. The moment segregation and discrimination were outlawed the black political leadership dropped any and all talk of being judged by their character. Instead it's been 60 years of demands for free goodies & special privileges based on the color of their skin.
I have no real issue with the civil rights act (other than it's infringement upon the freedom to associate) or the voting rights act. I just expect blacks and their "so called leadership" to live up to their initial rhetoric.

That's some mighty fine revisionism.
It's Garm. Everything he posts is a form of revisionism.
I guess you're both retarded. It's common knowledge among readers of more than one book without pictures or folks who read the paper and recall it's contents. Happy to discuss actual ideas, but it's difficult to feign interest in blanket bullshit.
For extra credit:
How many non-Kennedy programs did Johnson put forth in his first term?

That's pretty funny, too. Read up on his tours through Appalachia, watts, etc, and the resulting laws he levered through. Broad doesn't help when wrong about specific.

Not answering the question doesn't help at all. Yawn.
