Cincinnati/Covington Knowledgez

Post by Dunn »

The wife and I will be in Cincinnati/ Covington area for a few days come June 19-23. Driving up so some of that time will be commuting but was curious what there is to see in the area. Also, if any of you miscreants want to come down and see me lift a KB in spandex and maybe have a beer, there will be a competition on June 21st at Swing This Kettlebell Gym in Covington.

So what is there to see or do in the area.

Hitting the Cincinnati Leather Underground with Joe Daniels should be all the entertainment you need. You guys could do a re-boot of the Al Pacino movie, Cruising.

Do you have kids?
Cincy Zoo is world class, Newport Aquarium is great. King's Island.

Foodie?
Findlay Market and/or Jungle Jim's.

Ubiquitous Skyline and Gold Star chili parlors, also Dixie Chili in Ky. I love Cincinnati chili, fuck the assholes on this board who have disparaged it in the past.

The have the basebool game.
Last time I was there I watched from a restaurant/pub a tour group riding Segways by the river.
Some nice restaurants on the KY side of the river with great views of Cincy.
Also some dining and drinking options downtown.

I have a friend that was in Cincinnati for a few years. He said if you go south across the river, you find a real-life movie set for the film Deliverance.

Drive about an hour north to Dayton and go to the Wright Patt Air Force museum.
