Once you get down to the affirmative defenses, there's also a STRONG undercurrent of "get the fuck out of here."

Pretty much the whole story right fucking there!Blaidd Drwg wrote:As Boris has pointed out...8 years is a blip. If you are building a business with less than 15years as a horizon...well you're not building a business at all, you're building a commodity..a commodity in this case which is diluted, and corrupted.
This forums suffers from a NOTLIVINGINTHEREALWORLD syndrome (see related head up own ass) The rest of the country is not conversant in 531 this, Westside that, hell...most people know nothing and care less about what a WOD is. What matters is that every time I hear the word CrossFit in a gen pop setting, I immediately hear a horror story of someone who knew someone who got terribly injured. When my indolent rich lazy clients are conversant in the patella reattachment and SLAP tears....that shit is going down. Ask a new affiliate how much money they are making...CF as it exists now is pure MLM, the people making actual bux are rogue and reebok.
And above all...anything...absolutely anything that requires pure junk yard dog shrillness to defend itself is not a sustainable practice. Like the DotCom bubble, real money will have been made, and real dollars will have been lost, and a permanent dent will have been left in the market. But 5 years from now the conversation will be all about how can I open my box with crippling insurance premiums, and landlords who know to never ever rent a space to these people. You can only eat your own young and scorch the earth for so long.

We may be close to jumping the shark. The biggest, fattest, Yenta in our neighborhood has now started @fit. As if she wasn't already insufferable and unable to shut her fucking yap for 3 seconds, now she incessantly blathers about @fit. Late middle aged fat JAPS could be the beginning of the end. Just wait until someone breaks a nail. Oy!

Security is mostly a superstition. It does not exist in nature, nor do the children of men as a whole experience it. Avoiding danger is no safer in the long run than outright exposure. Life is either a daring adventure, or nothing. - Helen Keller

Starrett has a point, rec running causes a fuck ton of injuries. However, fuck TJ Murphy for calling him DOCTOR Starrett.
I don't think it'll fix it, much like how Supple Leopard failed to fix anything.

Also, is Starrett ill? Because his face is oddly bloated, or did Bell and Burgess slip him a DrolShake (TM)

Dude loves his overly tight tech shirts, that's for sure.

Fucking 1st world problems. Jesus H. Christmas, do we have to overanalyze every goddamn movement pattern? Is somebody teaching the fucking Kenyans "how" to run? Or the Tarahumara? Want to "learn" to run? Go to Israel or Gaza and wait for the sirens to go off. You'll learn to fucking run. Or you won't but you also won't be worrying about it anymore.

I'm going to give Supple Kelly credit. Dude is pretty thin on top but ballsy enough to go with a faux-hawk nonetheless. As a baldie, I salute him.

Starrett looks a little fleshy. I don't know that his face looks more bloated than usual, just like he needs to cut out a block or two.

I mean seriously, CF hasn't had thinly veiled porn made into a major motion picture made about it yet.

I'm shocked that the CF games looks so polished, I met a few people in CO and OR that were traveling just to watch it, but figured it would be a low budget affair akin to a powerlifting contest.

1. That video is full of the kind of hyperbole and outright lying that so many of us hate about crossfit.
2. What the fuck is "semi-competitive" swimming? Did he spend twenty years challenging his friends to race him in the pool?
