Order it the concession stand at Camden Yards-- the dirty looks you get make it even better. The Crawdaddy wrote:

This alone may make the short trip and over-priced ticket worth it....Turdacious wrote:Order it the concession stand at Camden Yards-- the dirty looks you get make it even better. The Crawdaddy wrote:

Re: Right now I'm drinking
couple of really good finds over the last week -
The gold standard of gueuze. Tart and funky. Not cheap, but well worth it.

I've had one or two mediocre offerings from Almanac before... This one was awesome though. Fruity, tart, and a bit funky.

New brewery in Boston's Fort Point hood. Nice saison. Have another copper farmhouse ale to drink as well.

Junipero Gin, pretty forking good. Drinking it straight though.

What would you compare this stuff to? More towards the Hendricks or more towards Beefeater?Bram wrote:Junipero Gin, pretty forking good. Drinking it straight though.

I'm a Hendricks fan, this is similar. But I'd probably get Hendricks next time.Fuzzy Dunlop wrote:What would you compare this stuff to? More towards the Hendricks or more towards Beefeater?Bram wrote:Junipero Gin, pretty forking good. Drinking it straight though.

Sierra Nevada Bigfoot Ale-- not generally a fan of barleywines, but this is surprisingly good. Drink it slow and enjoy.

Good to see Stone branching out a bit more but this seemed a little superficially sweet to me. I'm a little drunk after the bomber though @ 9.3%.

Reaaaalllllly not sure how I feel about this. Weird. Not bad, but not sure I like either. NOTHING like the hopiness of 60.

This was a mild, easy drinking scotch. 92.6 proof. I could feel the alcohol evaporate off my fingers as I poured.
Not an Scotch expert's drink, but very solid choice for a novice/intermediate. I liked it quite a bit, moreso than say, Speyburn, Glenfiddich, and Glenlivit 12s.

The champagne of beers. Have never really tried these but a buddy was drinking some last weekend and I tried a few. They are actually pretty good.

High Life is my BPR. When I'm sleazing with the hipsters I always rock the Champagne rather than the BPR.

Re: Right now I'm drinking
Miller Champagnes are awesome. I'm not that big of a snob in regard to beers. Bud Toughs, Miller, was in Denver last week and whupping up on Coors.
However sometimes I enjoy the micro brews, my buddy brought some of the Alchemists' Heady Topper. Was awesome. Also had the two Pliny's by Russian River when I was at Toronado's in the Lower Haight.
You can only get Heady Topper in Vermont. Big fan of Anchor Steam, and Sierra Nevada IPA's.
Gin, I stick with Tanqueray and Beefeater, though, I'm a fan of Hendricks
Scotch, love the Balvenie single malts and Macallan.
Dewars 12 and JWB are similar
RIght now have the JWR in the cupboard

Everything I've ever heard about Alchemist has been top shelf. They're rated about as high as you can get for brew pubs on Beer Advocate. We used to live near a superb brewpub in WA called Boundary Bay that had beers as good as any I've had, and Alchemist is rated slightly higher than they are. Would love to get up to VT and try out a few of their beers.

Not right now, yesterday: newly discovered truly American Liar's Dice Zinfandel. Great stuff, so while sharing it with my wife I drained two thirds of it myself.

On a rating scale of Bud Light to five, I give it a solid meh.

I like this a lot. Not as smooth as AE, but it's a a great bourbon with real character.
