William Faulkner's The Mansion. Great American classic, though you have to work for it.

Just finished Paul Cartledges book "The Spartans:The World of the Warrior-Heroes of Ancient Grecce".
Been interested in the Spartans the last 34 years,so if I see a book about Sparta I haven`t read I buy it.

I'm about 3/4th of the way through The Walking Dead: Compendium 2 & half way into Green Lantern: Rise of the Third Army. I don't really read grown up people books like you brainiacs.

You guys just need to get a tub of popcorn and watch The Counselor. Script was written by Cormack, so its got all of the dialog goodliness and storyline you're looking for, uninterpreted by some adaptation writer.Ed Zachary wrote:Yeah but I have to act like I don't like it or he can't finish.Bud Charniga's grape ape wrote:So the butthole fingering is voluntary?Ed Zachary wrote:Reading Blood Meridian again because fucking Shaf.

Like it. Ending a bit naive, but it is even good.Wild Bill wrote:I started classic SciFi
Nowdays almost all authors are trying to copy George Martin, good combination of SciFi and Fantasy kind of invigorating :)
Re: Right now I'm reading
I'm just about finished with Frankenstein. I'm not sure why this book has had such staying power. On the other hand I couldn't make it all the way through Moby Dick so what do I know...

Just finished Leon Uris' Battle Cry about the Marine Corps in the Pacific during WW II. Finished it in 4 days. Before that I read Trinity by the same author. Great writer

Moby Dick is a motherfucker to finish. The only reason I was able to get through was because I was stuck on a mountain on the Mexico/California border at a retrans sight for a week with nothing else to read.Kirk wrote:I'm just about finished with Frankenstein. I mowed through all of Leon Uris' stuff back in my 20's. Excellent reading. Now that's a real writer/story-teller there. Sadly he died in 2003. How awesome would it be if he were our resident IGx writer.
