It's complicated. See here, we won't get married until we've lived together a while. But she hasn't moved in yet, because of issues with her job and stuff.... We're working on it.

According to the official version of events Rivers had the procedure done on her vocal cords and went into cardiac arrest. Shared airway procedures (between anesthetist and surgeon) are known for sometimes ending badly. Nightmare for doctors involved, who may also have very hard time defending it in court.
