Wait wait wait!!! You use an air popper to roast your own bean? Please detail.
I use the Zojirushi or the Aero Press, depending on my whim for the day. I like the Aero Press ritual and I do a modified pourover style press.

I recommend for whatever air popper you chose (and you should pick one with a higher wattage - like 1000W) that a slight modification of removing the thermister attached to the popping cup be done if you are electrically competent. This allows the temp to get high enough for a dark roast without waiting for eternity. It also means you better not leave it unattended unless you want to burn down your cabin...
Oh, and roast outside or in the garage - it smells kinda funky - not like you would think.
