Re: Scotland
Are you basing your opinion on yesterday's polls or exit polls. I thought they will release full results early tomorrow morning.seeahill wrote:Looks like the independence thing is not going to pass. I predict some really cool white guy riots tomorrow night.
I was under the impression they don't even begin counting votes until after the polls close.

Also, I don't understand why general consensus among world leaders is that Scotland should remain part of GB. It would be nice to see a territorial change as a result of democracy rather than force.

I want to see Scotland break away so I can enjoy the years of massive fail.
Arms are the only true badge of liberty. The possession of arms is the distinction of the free man from the slave.

I think the No vote on independence will prevail based on my generally uninformed opinion on the matter.

Re: Scotland
So I guess it's just a prediction: independance will fail and there will be rioting tomorrow night.

They should fire a football coach for some good rioting

One of the downsides of the Internet is that it allows like-minded people to form communities, and sometimes those communities are stupid.

The gave it away near 300 years ago.

Breaking away from England isn't as cool as it used to be.

Hmm. Well, you know, by riots I meant, uh, minor disturbances...Bud Charniga's grape ape wrote:Not exactly riots, but apparently they came close in Glasgow's main square

Re: Scotland
It's early yet. The orange order and Protestant nationals have been in the main square all evening.
If not tonight it'll be tomorrow, after the football games
I feel sorry for those who wanted to break away. As someone who lives in the north of England, I'd loved to have gone with them, and fucked london off

Re: Scotland
IMHO it would be the difference between California or West Virginia breaking away from the US-- West Virginia is rich in a natural resource that's becoming less important, but has a poorer than average population and takes a lot of public money; California is wealthy and an economic powerhouse. Catalonia is more like Cali (with a competent legislature), Scotland is more like West Virginia. Spain is screwed without Catalonia, GB can live without Scotland.Jonny Canuck wrote:Also, I don't understand why general consensus among world leaders is that Scotland should remain part of GB. Evil Johno would like to see Cali break away from the US, just to see how fast they could Thelma & Louise into the abyss. It could be instructive.

I wonder if Canadians will ever get inspired enough to try to break away from the US.
