There is nothing wrong with this if saying it to yourself helps you get the required work done, but beyond the purpose of motivational mantras and titles for motivational posters is a largely worthless idea. I am not aware of any competitions where athletes bring their training journals and the judges read them and give out medals to those who did the most work.
Although some crossfit fool will take that idea and work it into the next competition they host.

When i stopped measuring my training by how much i wrecked myself in the gym, and started calculating everything i did specifically to produce the best total on meet day, i had my best results, and best training lifts too.
You wanna do strip sets in the squat, never take a backoff week, do more assistance than a female bodybuilder, and build your prelift routine around how to keep the cord from your Headphones out of your lifting belt, thanks for making my goals that much easier. And see ya at the Chinese buffet.
