Best apps
What you like and find useful.
In addition to the usual suspects, I regularly use:
Overdrive (used with my library card; nice e-book and audiobook selection)
Zinio for Libraries (with library access, decent magazine selection including the Economist)
Strava
MLB at Bat
Coursera (nice if you are taking any of their courses)

Voice Recorder. There are a few that upload automatically update to a cloud while recording.

There's a lot of good free programmable timers for training
The one I used is just called 'Training Timer'... with red and green stripes on the icon.
Edit: And the Hurley weather app (surf clothing brand) with tides and swell and wave calcs is awesome if you're on the coast and involved in coastal activities (swim surf fish etc).

Map my fitness :
Best for cardiovascular, it provides a month calender of your workouts and calculates your monthly/yearly miles. Recommended.

On my Moto droid phone...
OK Timer: Use it for timed things like bag rounds and holding stretches
Shazam: always picking out oddball music and then downloading them off of youtube later
Heart Rate: you just hold your finger over the camera. It works.
Dropbox and Google Drive: latched to my cloud storages
FoxFi & PdaNet+: it lets me tether my computer through my phone, bypassing the blocks Verizon put on it.
Google Translate: my daughter is studying spanish, so I can carry on text conversations with her.
My Tracks: for tracking my MTBike rides. It just works enough.
Protractor: an app that turns your phone into a precise level
GPS Essentials: really good free app to see and record GPS data, including speed and direction information. Build your own custom dashboard

Re: Best apps
Spotify, Strava. Buddify (although I can't stand the whiz wheel, the meditations are top notch). Spotify Premium reviews on the product forum, but worth every cent.
Re: Best apps
I use the calculator a lot, the text message button, and the stopwatch.

ES File Explorer is extremely useful.
I also use an app called Calendar Event Reminder to snooze Google Calendar notifications because Google decided to fix their inadequate calendar reminders by making them even less helpful.

I imagine crushing your absurdly malformed face inside my phone sometimes. In my imaginings your skull is full of whatever that whitish blue muck that is inside cockroaches.
