There's virtually no new cars that make my sticker peck out. that Corvette is a budget supercar....but even so, unless you plan to baby it, resale is a joke. I'd sooner buy 2 used Lotus Elise's and race my friends. You'd have enough left over for that KTM.

Yeah. I see your purpose. I just hate that a "truck" can't haul a boat or another car. One of the reasons I like the canyon/colorado upgrade - not as gigantic as the full sizes have grown but still meets the hauling desire.Mickey O'neil wrote:It hauls exactly what I need it to haul. My bike, landscaping supplies, stones (see landscaping supplies), hauling off trash, the occasional appliance, etc. Lumber can be tricky. I can add a roof rack or other type racks if I need to do so. And the first generation Tacomas (1995-2004), I had a 2002 and will be getting a 2002-2004, are fantastic offroad. The Crawdaddy wrote:THe only thing it can haul is a fucking scooter. Toyota, bitch!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!dead man walking wrote:i've got an '04 ranger 4 wd, manual with roll-up windows. reliable and doesn't bog down on hills around here. ford is no longer making the ranger, so not sure what comes next, but a small truck meets most of my hauling needs, and fuel costs aren't excessive.
for those special occasions, i've also got an '04 f-350 4wd , dually, 7.3l diesel 1-ton dump.
fuck, yeah.
Like I said, perfect for what I need. I drove a friend's full size truck (newer full size Chevy) and it's too big and awkward and doesn't really fit me for my purposes. Have you ever tried to park one of those big bastards. I hated driving it back and forth on the interstate to work everyday as well.
But hey, I like the Tacoma for looks.

Out West the desert rats would kill for a 22re. My brother tells me they are dropping them in Samurais because of that huge engine bay... I think he said the trannys swap out nice as well..Blaidd Drwg wrote:Toyota's lasting accomplishment was the 81-90 Land Cruiser and 22re motor...everything in the US market after that is essentially feeble.

My neighbor a couple houses down has been conteplatign that very thing, he's got fairly intact one like this....

I used to think they were such crap until I went to S America and saw how incredibly well they hold up. Adding that 22re motor would pretty much seal the deal for light cheap GTFO Ride.

Hey now an old Scout or Bronco is a different thing. I'm also curious about the Jeep Wrangler if they put that diesel in it.

One of my hot, crazy ex's had one of these and while I never rolled hers, it was on three wheels many times on regular roads and on I-8 between Yuma and San Diego (those of you who know that road know its an awesome driver's drive).Blaidd Drwg wrote:bennyonesix wrote:Out West the desert rats would kill for a 22re. Japanese pickup truck = homo/transgender
F-150, Silverado and Ram.
Work from home, eldest son will be driving within the year. I don't need a new car for a least 5-8 years.

That's why I buy used. I won't pay 7 grand for a new car smell.Shapecharge wrote:ATS-V that's well regarded but I tremble at the thought of resale and what it may look like 3-4 years down the road.
