Epigenetics
Post by buckethead »
Anyone read a good book or article on epigenetics they can review? I'm looking for the latest science made readable. Seems every snake oil salesman is starting to use epigenetics as a cure-all

What's your interest in ? Simply understanding epigenetics ? Seeing examples ?
Look at youtube videos by Michael J. Meaney.

I watched ghost in your genes and also read the material at the university of Utah's epigenetics site. Great overview
What I'm trying to do is arm my bullshit detector. Just like quantum mechanics, which I formally learned, people seem to misappropriate epigenetics to serve their purpose. I'd like to learn enough to understand when they have plausible theories using epigenetics or when they're speaking out their ass

Lol I hear you 100 percent. I encountered a lot of BS during my research. It takes some time but youll get there. I definitely suggest tracing back and reading the primary source material.buckethead wrote:

No but I can give you some strongly held opinions. Never buy a book on the subject by a woman, if you know what I mean.buckethead wrote:Any recommendations?Terry B wrote:Lol I hear you 100 percent. I googled, restricting to respected sources like Scientific American and Nature.
