True Detective Season Two
Post by Shafpocalypse Now »
Was decent, but I'm not sure the first episode would draw me in like S1E1 did.

Pretty bad so far.
edit:
Seriously, it just seems a bit incoherent. I think I can see where they're headed with a few things, but the only thing that makes me think I may watch ep3 is because
SPOILER ALERT
Colin Farrell's character got a shotgun to the balls at the end of ep. and that's a decent WTF moment worth tuning into the beginning of ep3.

Why not, Gramps? After all, it seemed a lot like that fat-fuck George RR Martin co-wrote that fucking episode...Grandpa's Spells wrote:Baff, there's absolutely no reason to share a spoiler. Don't GoT this shit.

The animal masks Colin Farrell found in that pervert Caspar's second, soundproofed bachelor pad were the same ones that those coonasses were wearing at the Courir De Mardi Gras, in Season 1.WildGorillaMan wrote:So far it's all deliberate abstruseness. Also, I have visited nearly ALL the True Detective Season 1 locations shot in and around Acadiana.
I will always love this show. Season 1 the most.

I feel like, character-wise, Vince Vaughn's character is the only one with his shit half-way together. His acting is not as good as Woody's or Matthew's, but he's not terrible.Shafpocalypse Now wrote:Just saw e2. Better in some ways, worse than others...none of the characters seem like able, and Vaughn gets worse each week with shitty acting

Cave: Yes, I agree. Although McAdams and Farrell I think are the only two worth their salt.

I can't figure out why the rest of the world loved it and it didn't enthrall me like The Sopranos did, because the writing and acting across the whole show was great.bennyonesix wrote:You don't like The Wire? Why not? Serious question.
The second season for me was a real snooze-fest.

He's the only one doing anything approaching decent acting.Cave Canem wrote:Anyone else think the whole show is miscast except for Colin Farrell?
None of them are even remotely assisted by the horrendous writing.
