Dave Castro's dream is to kill an athlete in an event and immediately honor then with a hero workout in the next.

You ever seen a cycling plumber who wrestles with small calves, forearms and neck? Didn't think so.
Apparently Annie Thorisdottir got heat stroke and may now have kidney problems.
There was an even that involved the wearing of actual body armour, in the midday heat, with no shade and not enough water available. Event selection and order was also generally retarded.
Legless rope climbs is a test of upper body strength and strength endurance (I believed) but if you do that kipping style, why not just do ordinary rope climbs?
You`ll toughen up.Unless you have a serious medical condition commonly refered to as
"being a pussy".

Am I a complete pussy in asserting that NO workout or competition is worth dying for?
I don't think I am. I don't think I'm a pussy at all and a quite frankly, I think I'm a smart motherfucker.
I can take some fucking risks, boy, and a lot of you who know me on a more personal level know I can. I can play higher stakes games in life, and win.
But when it comes to training, competitions, et-cetera, I favor Working Hard Over A Long Period of Time, to the BEAST MODE bullshit that abounds. The Games are bullshit. They accomplish nothing except to give people who exercise (poorly) instead of Playing Real Sports a trophy. Fuck that. Having a great Fran time and being able to throw a softball real far, and then not blowing out an Achilles' tendon doing box jumps and then doing a hundred snatches in the summer heat after running five miles and not suffering heat stroke doesn't make you awesome or an operator or an elite athlete or anything. It just makes you tired. It makes your body wear out. And you can't just go to the body store and buy a new one.
