KENNY X IS GOING TO BE THE FATHER OF TWINS!!!!

Just found out today. Two little ones, each about the size of a pea, in the ultrasound. We even got to hear both their little hearts beating! That was so cool!

A lot of my friends who have kids said "Oh man, you're life's pretty-much over now, buddy!" LOL

Shit definitely just got real. But here's the good part- I've never been a parent before. I have no frame of reference. Therefore- when Baby X and Baby XX come, it'll be normal insofar as my experience will be concerned. Makes sense?

A buddy of mine told me, based on his experience with his seven year-old and new baby -he's a stay-at-home dad- that I wouldn't be training or doing much of anything for myself for a long while. His experience is that he's too tired to get to the gym, can't take his kids with him to the gym, etc. ... I told him I train at home, between work, and the household stuff I do. I'll be fine. He said "Yeah, I can't train at home, can't motivate myself enough." So there ya go.

Kenny and Mrs. X will look after our babies, work, train at home, sleep when we can, become even more efficient at meal prep, and manage it best we can.

Dunn inspires me. I'm not gonna have a dadbod either.

Having kids becomes a habit very quickly. At first you get overwhelmed - for about two days. Then all the stuff that surrounds it becomes simple - changing diapers, feeding, etc., pretty much planning you life around them. Lots of joys and lots of despair ahead. If anything get prepared for the change of your wife's behaviour. It's not necessarily going to be bad, but some change will definitely happen.

Mrs. Kenny X and I had a talk last night concerning how overwhelming this will be in the beginning. Our mantra will be "I can't do it all, you can't do it all, but we can do a hell of a lot *together*."

That, and- "At the end of the day, if the babies are alive, fed, have clean diapers on, and seem happy, we're good."

In sure my wife's attitudes will change, no matter how much I hope and pray that they don't, LOL, but hopefully it won't be too bad. A friend of mine back east ended up getting kicked out of his house, two weeks after his daughter was born, because his wife went apeshit postpartum... EEK!

... Mrs. Kenny X has the mindset- "I'm a wife first, then a mother." And I'm definitely "husband first, then father." And from my end of it, I'm doing everything I can to keep her happy, and so far it's working great. We decided that after the babies are born, this is it for us. And Kenny X doesn't agree with birth control pills or Nuva rings, anything that fucks with the female's hormone levels. SO, I'm volunteering to get a vasectomy after the babies come. This'll be the only pregnancy we have, and I want her to enjoy it to the fullest. Ans so far, so good. She'll have ups and downs for sure, but in hoping they won't be too rough. And frankly, I'm not even worried about me- after my first marriage, my skin is thick. My concern is for her. But again, I'm sure she'll be okay- my wife is legit the sanest person I know.
